It is impossible for almost anyone to work from home in this business.
Depends on your manager, at least in IT. I’ve had some managers who are extremely flexible and others who are not as flexible and want you in the office.

It is not a good balance. Work force is a little less than necessary, and all are expected to do the overtime for the department.
