How much and how often do raises happen at FedEx?
Top Employee Response
In October 2022 3% which is about 50 cents .... and they act like it is something great that employees should be so thankful for.
They have a 10 step pay scale now for all hourly employees. I’ve been with the company for 22 years and am currently on step 7. According to this scale I’ve a raise about once every 3 years. Given the fact that a majority of my career at the company was during an economic boom in the country I would say raises come sparingly, at least for hourly employees.
Ive been at FedEx Freight for 9 years and we only get 30 cents per year for cost of living. It's a joke in 2022
How's the work life balance at FedEx?
Top Employee Response
Bad. Can't plan for anything.
There is no balance. My wife was in the hospital having an operation and I had to work.
The job is very productive, fun and fast paced. The more that's done in a shift the better your production will be. When I was a package handler, I did mostly four trucks a day on a slow day. It's real easy to get up to advancement if you're willing to show commitment and have a great relationship with your managers.
What unique perks and benefits does FedEx provide?
Top Employee Response
Pension is good benefit
We’re an airline, so we have benefits with other airlines and hotels. We also get corporate discounts with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint of 23%.
shipping discount, some non rev flight benefits
does the company give bonuses? what % are they on average?
Top Employee Response
The bonuses are not given to hourly employees.
Drivers receive a bonus twice a year; 2% is the least I have received, and 4% is the most. This is based on a driver’s total income of the previous 6 months; for me, that means $750’ish on the low side, and $1500’ish on the high side.
FedEx Freight employees receive bonuses across the board. I do not know the metrics other than it happens twice a year.
What's the vibe like in the Operations dept at FedEx? How many hours are you working?
Very stressful and demanding. Lots of extra hours cleaning up unfinished work
Moral is low..most drivers are over maxed on stops and miles..pushed over the limit...no one is allowed over time.
Good vibe. We have a good group right now. 20-30

How much diversity is there among employees at FedEx?
Yes
Theres alot of diversity
LOTS! if you're a proponent of diversity for the sake of diversity FedEx is your company
How's the morale at FedEx?
Horrible
Morale is good! We have fun, work hard, sometimes banter a bit. This is a great place to work!
Generally low and negative on every rung of the ladder. Work life balance is a joke if you are anything higher than a package handler and while the company prides itself on offering solutions to fixing them, they're all impractical or impossible. With the shift to a 6 day a week operation without practical increases in staffing the already stressed and overworked staff are pushed even further in an effort to accomplish an additional days worth of work with less people. With the most recent bout of raises being a flat % company wide vs effort based rewards the most incompetent of fools got the same % raise that someone exceptional did. It often feels that upper management makes decisions based on what makes them look good versus what is practical, intelligent, and considerate of the staff at large. The staff is aware of this and great talent often leaves for similar and less stressful jobs as a result.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at FedEx?
Top Employee Response
Teach respect and trust....to many rules of the day..
More incentive for workers.
If I was the manager,I'd think more about my employees instead of myself

What needs to change to make the company culture better at FedEx?
Top Employee Response
There was a time when we had bowling leagues, golf leagues and other team building activities. No one in management is supporting this.
The sort manager is more worried about Total Labor hours, and getting people off the clock, than she is about the quality of work being done
Fedex chooses to use the stick instead of a carrot to get work out of there employees
How's the leadership on the Operations team at FedEx?
Spotty. Some are very good, others are quite bad
Yells at you! Tells you to take and do it..managers cant do it..but they expect you to do it. Slows down belt when upper management comes around...
He complains allot about every little thing.

What should I wear for an interview at FedEx?
Top Employee Response
You should always dress for success no matter what position you're applying for. Men should wear dark slacks and a plain whit or blue or grey shirt and tie. A nice suit is good too, again, black, blue, or grey. Women should wear something casual, but simple. Nothing gaudy, nothing too colorful. You dont want the attention to be on your ensemble in a negative way
Suit, dress for success
Jeans and a decent shirt
What do people at FedEx think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
