What is the best part about your compensation package?

Decent benefits overall. The employee discount is amazing. Paid sick time, vacation time. But the pay is shoddy at best. Some fast food places are paying more, in my area, at least.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Most outfitters at my location are kind, considerate, team players, I've formed incredible bonds and friendships with several outfitters. There are a few bad eggs amongst outfitters however, the real problem seems to lie with management, at my location anyway.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?

Ask more customer service based questions, provide potential scenarios and ask how one would react, Break down policies, allow time for questions, provide standard answers to common questions so they're prepared. Go over things like club card, conservation roundup, gear guard, phone capture, etc.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

We communicate well, help ease each others workload, and have each others backs. Help doesn't stop with work, we've provided funds for gas/groceries to struggling outfitters, helped an outfitter move from an abusive relationship, babysat each others kids and more. We're family in a lot of ways.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

all outfitters should have to follow the same policies with the same consequences. They also need to properly train their employees. Most importantly, they need to actually recognize when an employee is going above, instead of just loading more on in attempt to balance what their favorites dont do.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Management needs some major help. There is obvious favoritism, they can never seem to give a straightforward answer, there is obvious tension amongst the leadership team, and their answer to everything if questioned is along the lines of "if you don't like it, just quit." & that's just a start.
