Capital One Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Very fair all around, holistically.

Review from Product Dept

base salary and sign on bonus

Review from HR Dept

The base salary is pretty competitive with most companies but not competitive with top tech companies.

Competitive base and bonus and great benefits

Review from Engineering Dept

Bonus in addition to base. Honest clear pay bands

The allowance and health cards provided

Review from Customer Support Dept

My compensation package looks at my potential, not merely what I am currently contributing.

Review from Product Dept

The best part of the compensation package at Capital One are the unheard of benefits. These benefits range from back up daycare, paternity leave and even adoption assistance.

Review from HR Dept

Not only do we get 4 weeks PTO per year, have the best insurance with BCBS and we are treated to fun days: which can be anything from going out to eat and the movies to going to Incredible Pizza....

Review from Customer Support Dept

My 401k its th evbest.

Review from Finance Dept

Review from Operations Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I have degrees and am still paid as if I only have a high school diploma. I have exceptional performance reviews, a strong work ethic and still Management doesn't care.

Not paid fairly when compared to market salaries and bonus is well below other financial institutions. Yearly adjustments are a joke and barely keep pace with inflation.

Review from Operations Dept

The benefits pay much less than other companies that I have worked for. I pay more out of pocket with Capital One.

Review from Finance Dept

I think salary is very competitive, and is at or above other companies, but benefit plan is not as strong as other similar companies.

Review from Operations Dept

Management needs to pay according to experience and merit. Evaluations are awarded based upon a bell curve rather than actual employee performance and skews things terribly. In addition, management uses raises and bonuses via reviews as a tool to level pay rather than recognize success.

Review from HR Dept

Compensation is based on political connections vs. your actual skill.

Capital One has grossly unfair policies around employee evaluation and compensation. They grade on a curve and tell their managers how many staff can get a top rating, mod rating, etc. before they evaluate their teams.

Review from HR Dept

Compensation would be fair if the current implementation of performance Management was gone. The system prefers meeting makers over makers.
