Ruthlessly. Basically you’ll be called into one of two rooms. You’ll quickly learn your fate in the first minute of the meeting

I’ve seen it many times. Will happen right around the holidays. It’s handled by protecting those you know and hang out with. Caterpillar is more about who you know than what you know or your past performance.
How does Caterpillar Inc. handle HR issues?
With a big broom. While there are formal processes it is not recommended to follow them unless you have another job lined up. As soon as you raise an issue you are branded and will find yourself out of work. Even if it is safety related.

What's the internship program like at Caterpillar Inc.?
It's not a bad program to be on get full qualification which is recognised everywhere at the end of your Internship and caterpillar pay better money

Pretty good program depending on where you get put learn hardware software perhaps work on the equipment or just in a lab testing setting . Most people come away with more knowledge and some want to stay others want a smaller or different environment

Fun and friendly
Generally very nice and easy to get a long with. Collaboration among individual contributors is great. When layers and layers of managers get involved things start to break down and the bureaucracy of the company shows up.

Unqualified, uneducated boys club
The leadership team of anyone above team lead level is horrible. Poor management, excessive expectations above and beyond what A human is capable of.
Leadership very poor. Holds no one accountable for bad behavior. Does not consider new ideas for operations improvements that are not their own
What's the office vibe like at Caterpillar Inc.?
They removed the offices and put the office workers on the warehouse floor to convert the offices to break rooms. Office workers expected to do their office work and load trucks.
Lots of different offices; but generally good.
A lot of internal bickering between shifts. Management does not hold anyone accountable for bad behavior

Our quality of machines that we do make us a head for any engineering and I'll safety is parallel safety comes first

Very good there's always chance to learn to drive all of our machines + tow unit and flt
Difficult but possible. Build your network from day one and align your lips to your managers back side. Do that and you’ll get mobility opportunities.

Find out who your bosses, boss is and try to make an impression there somehow. Network, network, network. The policy and process stuff will come but you only get to use “I am new” for about two months. Take advantage of that time.

Not very. If you hire onto a good team than you will be onboarded with a good experience. But HR just collects the paperwork and points you to the direction of your area in your respective building.
After orientation I was sent to the wrong facility to report. Was akward as no one seemed to know where I was sitting. After a couple hours it was figured out.

Purely on feedback. No discernible metrics to measure your success or compare to a college. Just network and keep a positive reputation. Those are they key metrics

Communication, networking and a certain willingness to interpret laws, policies and processes in a way that benefits the company.
A degree, low morals and a willingness to lie under oath.
How innovative is Caterpillar Inc.?
As innovative as our consultants are in the HR space. For engineering we are top notch. HR not so much. Very underfunded and undervalued work at Caterpiller.
The engineers are very innovative and the marketing team. Not so much for executives.
