  • Ruthlessly. Basically you’ll be called into one of two rooms. You’ll quickly learn your fate in the first minute of the meeting

  • I’ve seen it many times. Will happen right around the holidays. It’s handled by protecting those you know and hang out with. Caterpillar is more about who you know than what you know or your past performance.

  • With a big broom. While there are formal processes it is not recommended to follow them unless you have another job lined up. As soon as you raise an issue you are branded and will find yourself out of work. Even if it is safety related.

  • It doesn’t handle issues. Employees don’t report issues to HR bc they don’t believe HR will take any action. Caterpillar HR is not about helping or supporting employees or the Cat team, it’s only about defending the business

  • It's not a bad program to be on get full qualification which is recognised everywhere at the end of your Internship and caterpillar pay better money

  • Did not participate in one.

  • Pretty good program depending on where you get put learn hardware software perhaps work on the equipment or just in a lab testing setting . Most people come away with more knowledge and some want to stay others want a smaller or different environment

  • Fun and friendly

  • Generally very nice and easy to get a long with. Collaboration among individual contributors is great. When layers and layers of managers get involved things start to break down and the bureaucracy of the company shows up.

  • The leadership team of anyone above team lead level is horrible. Poor management, excessive expectations above and beyond what A human is capable of.

  • They removed the offices and put the office workers on the warehouse floor to convert the offices to break rooms. Office workers expected to do their office work and load trucks.

  • Lots of different offices; but generally good.

  • A lot of internal bickering between shifts. Management does not hold anyone accountable for bad behavior

  • Find out who your bosses, boss is and try to make an impression there somehow. Network, network, network. The policy and process stuff will come but you only get to use “I am new” for about two months. Take advantage of that time.

  • Not very. If you hire onto a good team than you will be onboarded with a good experience. But HR just collects the paperwork and points you to the direction of your area in your respective building.

  • After orientation I was sent to the wrong facility to report. Was akward as no one seemed to know where I was sitting. After a couple hours it was figured out.
