From 1989 to 1996, he managed Cato Corp.'s off-price division, serving as Executive Vice President and as President and General Manager of iTS Fashion! Division from 1993 to August 1996. He has been a Director of The Cato Corporation since 1986. He served as a Director of Harris Teeter Supermarkets, Inc. since November 2002.
