It started out very positive. We had an amazing management team that actually cared about staff and the company. We worked as a team and sales were fantastic. It's changed since the family isn't running it anymore. It feels like every other major chain now.
What did you like most about the interview process?
Fair. Detailed. They're honest about hour availability and expectations.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The team members who have stayed in the longest know how to keep the store functioning while the SM sits in an office.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The company only cares about the customer being catered too even if it means we take a loss on returns that are damaged. What's positive? It's a job.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Any desire to make the store feel like a team environment is gone. They would have to be better managers of HUMANS before anything else. It's clear corporate no longer cares what happens to store moral. They hire desk managers for DM and then wait for numbers to come in.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
The list is too long. The company doesn't care about it's original stores. It focuses on babying their new openings and then moves on. Regional managers only care that their numbers are green. You'd have to remove everyone at corporate to improve where it's going. It's Walmart for outdoors gear.
