In 1988, he transferred to Dubai as a Senior Reservoir Engineer of Conoco. He joined ConocoPhillips Canada in June 2001. He moved to Houston in 1995 as a Reservoir Engineer of Conoco. He served as the Chief Reservoir Engineer of Conoco's reservoir technology organization since 1998. He moved to Alaska in 2003 as the Manager of North Slope Development of Conoco. He also worked in business development and staff roles at ConocoPhillips headquarters in Houston. He is a Reservoir Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from City University in London in 1982 and a Master's in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in 1983.
