Curiosity, positivity, and the proven ability to break hard big problems into a bunch of small solvable problems.
How common is it to switch departments or teams at CreativeLive?
We are a small company, just over 100 people, so I would not say it's common to switch teams. That being said, the right people in the right roles is key to any companies success. If we see someone is better suited for another role, or another team, we will have the conversation and make that move if it makes sense.
Not uncommon - there is a good amount of lateral movement. Management is genuinely interested in helping employees develop and pursue the opportunities they want as long as it makes sense for the business. I've seen lots of people transfer departments several times.
What do you like best about the leadership team at CreativeLive?
Improving focus on tighter vision and execution, getting better at not trying to do to many things.
Approachable and transparent. We really are on the same team.

What's the Marketing team like at CreativeLive?
Overall I would characterize it as mediocre aside from a small number of sharp people. Not a lot of big ideas, hard skills, experience, or hustle. To be fair, that is typical of startups/tech (where marketing isn't a highly valued function vs product or engineering), but something to consider if you are used to working in another environment where marketing has more of a seat at the table.

A perk that is unique to us is that all employees get full access to our CreativeLive catalogue! We encourage all employees to not only watch our courses online, but also sit in during the live workshop for topics they are interested in.
What's the office layout like at CreativeLive?
We have an open layout in both of our offices. It has it's pros and cons, but the goal of the layout is to encourage open communication between teams. I also think it's a fantastic way for new hires to be immersed in our culture right off the bat.
How's the morale at CreativeLive?
Great! This is a team that works hard, but takes time to enjoy the people around them. Culture fit is a big part of our interview process, and we take it very seriously. We want to ensure we are bringing people in that will live up to our core values, especially Positivity. We are a tight group that has to stick together and lift each other up.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining CreativeLive?
About all the parks & programs we offer. We do a lot for our employees to keep work fresh & fun and I think that can make a big difference when someone is deciding if a company is the right fit for them.
