1. License
This end user license agreement and disclaimer (“Agreement”) is entered into between Danfoss A/S or its Affiliates (each of which is referred to as “Danfoss”) and you as an end user (“You” or “User”). In this Agreement “Affiliate” shall mean an entity directly or indirectly controlled by Danfoss A/S whether by shares or voting rights.
Upon acceptance of this Agreement Danfoss grants You a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free, worldwide license (“License”) to install and use the software (“Software”) embedded on your Danfoss ECtemp Smart. The License is granted subject to User’s compliance with the following:
a) The terms of this Agreement
b) Danfoss Terms of Use (available at www.Danfoss.com)
c) Danfoss Privacy Policy (available at www.Danfoss.com)
2. Automatic Software Updates
Danfoss may from time to time develop patches, bug fixes, updates and other modifications to improve the performance of the Software (“Updates”). By connecting the Danfoss ECtemp Smart to to the internet You accept that Updates may be automatically downloaded and installed on your Danfoss ECtemp Smart without further notice or consent being required. You acknowledge that you may be required to install Updates to use the Product for remote access.
3. Consent to use of data
By enabling Your Danfoss ECtemp Smart to wirelessly connect to the internet you agree that Danfoss may collect, use, register and store information concerning your room names, heating requirements, user set-points, IP-addresses, software and hardware attributes, connection errors and user interaction. Such information is used by Danfoss to improve default settings and enhance the performance of the Software.
4. Proprietary Rights
This License and the Software contains proprietary information which is owned by Danfoss and protected by applicable intellectual property rights. Except as expressly permitted herein, such Danfoss information herein may not
i. be used for any purpose except in compliance with this Agreement,
ii. be copied or reproduced in any form, or
iii. be modified, rented, leased, sold, distributed or exploited commercially.
Danfoss reserves the right to change, suspend, remove or disable User’s access at any time without notice. The Danfoss name, Danfoss logo and other Danfoss trademarks, graphics and logos are trademarks or registered trademarks of Danfoss or its affiliated companies. User is granted no right or license with respect to such trademarks.
5. Third Party Components
The Software may include certain third party software components ("Third Party Components") including open source and free software components, each of which has its own copyright and its own license conditions ("Third Party License"). A list of included Software Components and their respective licenses can be found in clause 8. To the extent any Third Party License grants the User rights to use, copy or modify the Open Source Component that are broader or narrower than the rights granted in this Agreement, then such rights shall take precedence over the rights and restrictions granted in this Agreement solely for such Third Party Components.
6. Disclaimer of Warranty
This License is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis for the intended purposes as determined by Danfoss only and any use hereof is at User’s sole risk. The Software and results and information generated thereby cannot substitute technical advice but must be verified by the User, they are not promises and should not be relied on as accurate data or analyses. Danfoss disclaims all warranties and conditions regarding the Software, whether express, implied, or statutory, including, but not limited to, conditions of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement of third parties’ rights. Danfoss does not warrant that the Software will meet your requirements or that the operation hereof will be uninterrupted or error-free.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the extent not prohibited by law, in no event shall Danfoss be liable for any direct, special, indirect or consequential dam-ages, whatsoever, including, without limitation, damage to property, damages for loss of savings or profits, or loss of data arising out of any use of the Software.
7. Miscellaneous
The License shall automatically terminate upon User’s breach of any of the terms of this Agreement. Danfoss may terminate the License at its sole discretion without prior notice. Wi-Fi setup this cannot be done without Wi-Fi connection. Meaning you will not be able to see the thermostat in the app before Wi-Fi has been setup.

If that doesn't work you may have a hidden networkand in that case please consult the manual of your Wi-Fi router to find out if your Wi-Fi network is hidden (SSID Broadcast disabled) and how to make your Wi-Fi network visible (SSID Broadcast enabled).

When the Danfoss ECtemp Smart thermostat is connected to your Wi-Fi you can afterwards hide your Wi-Fi network again if needed by consulting the manual of your Wi-Fi router.
If you are unsure on how to configure your Wi-Fi router we recommend you contact the provider of your router.
In very rare cases the Wi-Fi network may not be shown due to the chosen frequency on the Wi-Fi router.
The Danfoss ECtemp Smart thermostat supports Wi-Fi routers with 2.4 GHz frequency. Most Wi-Fi routers that support 5 GHz also support 2.4 GHz by default to ensure the widest compatibility with Wi-Fi products. Please consult the manual of your router to learn more about what frequencies it can support.
View ArticleThe Wi-Fi password can usually be found on a label on your router or on the information sheet that was provided with your router. This is a standard practice for most internet service providers. If the Wi-Fi password is not found thentry to contact your internet service provider to see if they can provideyou with the Wi-Fi password.
Your internet service provider may suggest that youmanually reset the router to its factory defaults and follow the instructions in the routers manual on how to setup the Wi-Fi again. Please be aware that you shouldunder no circumstancereset your router to factory defaultsunless the provider of your router says it is okay.
If you no longer have the manual of your router you can probably find it on the internet. Start by locating the model name and number on the router itself and search the internetfor the phrase "<insert model name number> manual". Please be aware that if you reset your router that all your connected devices may need to be reconnected to your Wi-Fi network again.

Manual temperatureis particular useful if youhavea guest room that is rarely used. The heating schedule could be active when the guest is staying in the room and when the guest leaves you could switch toa lowermanual temperaturesaving you energy.

Manual temperature for an individual room can be activated as described here:

Slide "Manual temperature" from "Off" to "On"
"Manual temperature" is now activated.
Choose a different manual temperature if needed.
View ArticleWe recommend that you adapt the heating schedule of the Living Zone and the individual room(s) to your needs so Danfoss ECtemp Smart knows when are you at home and when are you away or asleep.
Additionally you could consider what the needed temperature for each room should be when you are at home and away or asleep. Generally the rooms where you spend the most time would most likely require a higher temperature than the rooms where you are less often or where you sleep.
Approximately 5\% of energy savings is possible for every degree of Celsiusthe temperature is lowered in the home.
View ArticleThe following steps show how you can remove the connection to a Danfoss ECtemp Smart thermostat from the Danfoss ECtemp Smart App.
Access the left side panel of the App. Click [Settings]. Click [Edit room] or [Edit house].
Follow the instructions on the screen on Android.
On iPhone/iPadselect the pencil in upper right side of the screen, and select the room (thermostat) or house to remove. Select [delete] in the bottomto confirm.

View ArticleTemperatures can be adjusted directly on the thermostat by touching the up and down arrows on the front. If thermostat is using “Heating schedule”, this will be overwritten when controlled by the scheduled actions.
The temperatures desired for when you are at home and away or asleep can be set individually for each room using the Danfoss ECtemp Smart App.
Access the right side panel of the Danfoss ECtemp Smart App.
You now have two options.
Click onthepencil to changethe current temperature for any room on the list. If thermostat is using “Heating schedule”, this will be overwritten when controlled by the scheduled actions.
Click on a[room name] to viewboth "At home" and "Away and Asleep" temperatures for that room. This will change the temperatures permanently until you change it again in the same way.

You can ask another person eg. an installer, to download the App andfollow the App’s guide on how to connect it to your Danfoss ECtemp Smart . You chose [Share House] and tell the code to the assisting person. The assisting person must enter this code under [Receive house] within two minutes from the code were given.Doing this will transfer your settings to the assisting person, supporting you.
You can remove App connections on the Danfoss ECtemp Smart at any time, under [Settings] and [User administration]. Removal is required for each individual thermostat.

In the app you then go into [settings] and select [install thermostat], the app will now guide you to get access to the thermostat and afterwards show the current configuration. Here you can reconfigure the Wi-Fi settings.
