Executive Bio

Mr. Carman Wenkoff has been the Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President of Dollar General Corporation since July 10, 2017. Mr. Wenkoff served as a Vice President of Operations/Finance & Administration and General Counsel at Ontain Corporation. He was with Ontain since its inception and served as its Head of Legal Compliance and Risk Mitigation Services Group. He served as the Chief Information Officer and Chief Digital Officer for Subway restaurants, where under his leadership the Information Technology (IT) team created an innovative digital marketing platform and point-of-sale system and many other integrated store technology solutions to help increase sales and profitability. He was part of the Information Technology and management team at Subway restaurant's franchisee-owned Independent Purchasing Cooperative and served as the Chairman of the Retail Gift Card Association. He served in senior IT management positions with several tech firms focused on digital marketing and payment and loyalty solutions. He has extensive legal and financial services background and served as the General Counsel for Pivotal Corporation, a leading developer of customer relationship management solutions. While at Pivotal, he played a critical role in the Company's executive management and operations. Before joining Pivotal, he practiced law and advised business clients in all areas of corporate commercial, franchise and intellectual property law. Along with his legal, financial and technology experience, he has also successfully started two businesses. Mr. Wenkoff holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfred Laurier University and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Victoria.
