I was apart of a retirement buyout not sure about layoffs
What makes you the most proud about working at Fidelity Investments?
The way they treated customers
What kind of interview questions do they ask when hiring someone in the Operations department at Fidelity Investments?
Not sure I don't work at Fidelity anymore I'm retired
How helpful was your Engineering team when you were first hired at Fidelity Investments?
Very helpful. There is a ton to learn, but they were very supportive and patient to help me get up to speed. They are a great group to work with.
How's the leadership on the Engineering team at Fidelity Investments?
Not great. Poor communication. Corporate politics and favoritism abounds. Control seems to be their primary goal, not quality or making customers happy (only insomuch as those things will make them look good to upper management). People aren't as important as the project so they aren't treated very well. Moreover, people aren't really valued for their skills, talents, or longevity of their contributions to the company. People are basically treated like cogs that can be moved, removed, and replaced as needed. While Fidelity is a great, successful company with excellent benefits, the leadership over the Engineering team is poor and causing many employees to worry about their jobs and start looking for new employment.
What does the ideal candidate in the Engineering department look like at Fidelity Investments?
Skilled and competent in the area of field he/she is working
How's the leadership on the Executive team at Fidelity Investments?
Outwardly happy within executive presence. But it's highly competitive and not aligned in reality.
What do you like best about the leadership team at Fidelity Investments?
CEO is in place because it's a family owned company, but she is very smart and has surrounded herself with other smart people.
