Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I carry a lot if the weight of my colleagues who fint contribute as much. Also, canada cost of living is just as high as NY yet im paid like 30k usd less than people who deliver less at the same level.
Compensation is non-negotiable because each role sits within a given salary band, but salary bands are also not disclosed so it's difficult to establish what's fair.

Increased pay for the value we bring. I believe that even pre pandemic we were underpaid. Additional equity would also be helpful

tasks are not fairly divided. some team members are overworked while others do nothing. team members who take on more are not compensated accordingly.

What are some of the best things about your team?
The engineers in my team are really fantastic. Super smart and lovely to work with. The women i work with are also incredible.
My peers were all great, super smart and strong workers. Losing so many of them over the past two layoffs has been hard

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I think within my team its positive. Wothin the company its negative. Were kept in the dark a lot as a company. Started 2023 with an explicit 'no layoffs' comment from CEO 3 months layer we had layoff. There didnt seem to be a reason why some great people were cut. Recently everything is very toxic

Bbq parties on sundays. Chicken wings should exist.

Thoughtful questions were asked, with an emphasis on details. Culture fit was addressed well. There was a structured approach to interviewing.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?
For a company making recruiting software their process was brutal. It wasnt hard but i got asked the same question so many times in different interviews and it was LONG. Ive never had to do more than 4 interviews this was 10.
