Our team values empathy and communication while also being pragmatic and technically strong. We often collaborate intensively.

What is the best part about your compensation package at Healthify?
Top Employee Response
We have fully covered medical, dental, and vision benefits, and flexible PTO.
If it counts as compensation, the remote work flexibility/unlimited vacation. If that doesn't count, then my options.
Compensation is based on skill and performance. The benefits for metro cards and health care are really good.
How's the vacation policy at Healthify?
Unlimited PTO - the people team is good at reminding people to take the time off, too
Super flexible
Great! Very flexible
How common is it to switch departments or teams at Healthify?
Not too common, but it has been done!
Reasonably common. Already seen it happen a handful of times in my tenure
It happens occasionally at the company scale but not too often. Within engineering though we're constantly shifting teams so you work with new people on new projects every 5-6 weeks.
If you could fix one thing about your team, what would it be?
Role delineation
More women and people of color in management. This is a huge issue right now at Healthify.
The homogeneity
Is it OK to swear in front of people in the office?
yes
Happens in company meetings so yes.
I don't swear at the office or feel comfortable doing it, but it's prominent amongst other team members
how long do you usually stay at the office
Top Employee Response
8 hours a day and then I leave.
10 hours
Usually around 10 hours.
Do u think the biz will be around for a long time to come?
Top Employee Response
That remains to be seen. Healthify's team is young in age and experience and we'll have to see how successfully we navigate the next few years. If management doesn't get better at their respective roles and fields, we might be heading for trouble. However, Healthify is making some effort at restructuring leadership and training management. For now, though, the future appears to be bright for Healthify.
I think it's likely
If we handle our growth well, yes!
how’s your vacation policy?
Top Employee Response
Excellent, we have unlimited PTO. You cannot cash out any PTO though :/
Great
The vacation policy is very flexible, which I appreciate.
are layoffs common?
Top Employee Response
Nope, not yet. Healthify is growing fast so we work hard not to lose anyone.
Never happened
None yet but we have yet to experience a major disruption in revenue, investment, or the market.
Are your coworkers your friends or just coworkers?
Many are my friends
Depends on what you are looking for. Friends with your coworkers is a thing not everyone wants. I'd say there is a healthy mix of friendship and comradery (friendly coworker relationship). People who want to take that step into friendship with coworkers have it, those who want a boundary and keep it at comradery also are respected.
While I feel like I have great relationships with my coworkers, we never really hang out outside of work.
What’s the most common reason ppl quit or leave?
Top Employee Response
Lack of satisfaction with management. Healthify's management team is young, unexperienced, untrained, and is unconcerned with those shortcomings.
Not many people have quit, but I suppose external change in life conditions (e.g. need to move for family)
Inexperienced managers.

Usually you hear within a week
Does Healthify drug test or do a background check?
background check
No drug test. I believe that yes we do a background check
What's the work from home policy like at Healthify?
We are very flexible. People can almost always work from home if they prefer, and just have to log it online and communicate about it with teammates
Many of us work from home full-time. Those of us co-located in NYC can work from home sometimes, but it's not exactly encouraged. It really depends on the team and manager. Some of the managers are very flexible (and even encourage working from home) while others are more strict. I would ask about it during the hiring process if that's something that's a deal breaker for you.
What's the office layout like at Healthify?
I work remote like most Software Engineers in the company, so my personal office is nice (it's my home lol). When I visit the office in New York City I really love seeing everyone, but open offices are not good for me personally and I struggle to get everything I'd like to get done.
Open layout
What unique perks and benefits does Healthify provide?
An education budget. Many of us spent 2017's on a trip to RubyConf in New Orleans.
Very work-from-home friendly/remote-friendly. Very flexible vacation. Excellent educational support. Nice wellness benefit. Great team lunches
What's the vibe like in the Engineering dept at Healthify? How many hours are you working?
Challenging and chill. If time is not negotiable, then scope is. If scope is not negotiable, then time is. There is a strong culture of growth-mindset from peers and leadership. Everyone is out to ship the best possible product with the highest quality of code, sometimes balancing the two but always keeping the tradeoffs in mind. We mostly work about 8 hours a day and never on weekends. Unlimited PTO is exactly that. You get yelled at if you're not taking enough time off.
Normal to long hours (40-60)
What's the Engineering team like at Healthify?
Exceptional. I've never worked someone so committed to craft and quality while simultaneously getting so much done. Working here you'll pair program, test drive everything, and ship new code every day.
Amazing! Very reflective people who are strong developers and even stronger teammates!
