Q&A With Ibex Global Employees
IDX: 25 TOT: 52
How flexible is your work schedule at Ibex Global?
No flexibility at all. They literally make you sign a paper saying you can work anytime between 5am and 12am and then you have to work whatever 9 hour schedule they give you. Doesn't even matter to them if the busses run during your shift. You have to be here. Who cares if you can make it home to your kids at night because the bus stops at 9?!?
What kind of interview questions do they ask when hiring someone in the Sales department at Ibex Global?
I'm not sure. I'm not in recruiting.
What Sales department questions did Ibex Global ask during your job interview?
I had to sell a pen.
How helpful was your Sales team when you were first hired at Ibex Global?
When I was first hired, it was great! That was a long time ago. Now it's terrible! Agents wait with their hands up for 20 minutes or more sometimes with no help!
Does Ibex Global drug test or do a background check?
Yeah, supposedly but it's a joke. They recruit from half-way houses...
What's the internship program like at Ibex Global?
What internship program? I spent 5 1/2 years there. Never met an intern.
How does Ibex Global measure success and growth in the Sales department?
Apparently by blaming former members of salaried leadership for all of their problems. The more members of management that actually know what ibex stands for in Pittsburgh that they get rid of, the more successful they feel they will be. They've gotten rid of several dedicated employees in the last year, and that is truly why their site is failing.
What skills do you need to be successful in the Sales department at Ibex Global?
Talking to customers whose existing services are not functioning properly and getting them to agree to adding more non-functioning products, selling more products to customers who already can't afford their monthly charges and are calling to downgrade, keeping accounts in which the caller wants to cancel because the account holder passed away and adding products to said account, stalling your customer while you ask for permission to issue a credit that you know the customer deserves, stalling the customer while you ask for permission to disconnect an account because the customer is moving outside the service area, documenting 3 different systems with the same information while you talk to the customer, doing all of this in 12 or less.
How are layoffs handled in the Sales department at Ibex Global?
I've never gone through a layoff. I was close once a few years ago, but we found a new client.
Why work for Ibex Global?
I was only so loyal to ibex for the agents. They needed someone to help them out when their supervisors wouldn't.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Ibex Global?
Reward long term hard working employees, actually care about the agents, stop changing HR every 3 months, stop changing management every 6 months. Give trainers resources instead of making them create their own while they have to train and supervise a class of 30. Supervisors can't fire anyone for attendance but then have to suffer for their team's absenteeism. It doesn't make any sense. And don't even get me started on the work-life balance and how they don't believe in that! It's a very toxic environment. I stayed for the agents. They needed some good in that place.
