A Referral Bonus is also a great way to help you build your team and your earnings so you can reach your earning goals faster. However, there are some rules to earning a Referral Bonus:
You must invite a NEW user to Ibotta. The new user cannot create a second account just to use your referral code. The new user must have never had an Ibotta account before.
The NEW user must have their own device. The new user cannot share a device with you or anyone else. Sharing a device will disqualify them from a welcome bonus and you from the referral bonus.
The NEW user must redeem a Brand Name Offer. A brand name offer is an offer with a specific brand in the title. Any Brand and Any Item offers do not qualify for the referral bonus.
Some times, Ibotta may offer additional bonuses for referring multiple new users. However, there are systems in place that prevent users from creating multiple accounts or fraudulent (fake) accounts. We want you and your friends to love Ibotta as much as we do; please don't break the rules regarding referrals.

First, try updating both the partner app and the Ibotta app from the Google Play or Apple App Store. This ensures that both parties are working on their latest version for optimal performance. If you still have trouble, try the next step.
Next, try removing the partner app. If you are still unable to perform actions on the partner app or in the web experience, uninstalling the partner app will remove any additional connection points. When you access the retailer through the Ibotta app, it should refresh a web connection and perform optimally.

View ArticleOnline Shopping offers can be reversed for a variety of reasons.
A pending offer can be reversed but should not affect your account balance as the credit hasn't been received. A credited offer can also be reversed which will affect your account balance for the amount of the offer. A bonus that is associated with a reversed Online Shopping offer can also be reversed which will have an effect on your account balance if the bonus is found to not be completed.
Here are some reasons why your Online Shopping offer was reversed:
The purchase was returned. If your purchase was returned in full, your pending credit will be canceled or your credited amount will be reversed.
If a portion of your purchase was returned, it is possible that the entire purchase will appear as canceled. If that happens, please write our Team who can assist you with the remainder of the purchase. It may also be possible that your pending or posted credit will be adjusted for the returned item, in which case you will not need to write our Team.
If any or all of your purchase needs to be exchanged, we suggest starting the process in the Ibotta app if possible. If your purchase is canceled after an exchange, please write our Team who can assist you.
The purchase was canceled by you or the retailer. If the purchase was canceled, the pending credit will be canceled or your credited amount will be reversed.
The purchase contained unapproved coupons or discounts. The pending credit will be canceled or your credited amount will be reversed, even if you did not cancel your purchase.
This is at the discretion of the retailer who may impose restrictions on eligible coupons that can be applied to your purchase.
The purchase contains an item or more that is not eligible for credit.The pending credit will be canceled or your credited amount will be reversed, even if you did not cancel your purchase.
This is at the discretion of the retailer who may impose offer exclusions in the offer details.
There is an error that Ibotta received from the retailer. This may happen by accident on the retailer's side resulting in incorrect information about your Ibotta offer credit.
If you receive a canceled message and did not cancel your purchase and did not apply any coupons, please write our Team who can assist you with your credit.
In any case, please save your confirmation email for reference and if you need to write our Team, be sure to include that in your message.

"Earning a bonus" means:
You have reviewed the bonus details that are specific to you.
You have completed the necessary number of redemptions; OR, you have completed the specific offer redemptions.
You have completed the redemptions prior to the bonus expiration date and time.
There are four kinds of bonuses:
Teamwork bonus
Shoppers must complete the Teamwork goal in order to receive Bonus credit.
A Brand or category specific bonus
Shoppers must redeemspecificbranded offers in order to receive Bonus credit. For instance, the a2 Milk Bonus details state: Earn an additional $1.00 when you redeem a2 Milk on 3 separate shopping trips. In this case, onlyspecificoffers, i.e. a2 Milk, qualify toward the Bonus requirements.
A non-specific bonus
Shoppers must redeemnon-specificbranded offers in order to receive Bonus credit. For instance, the April Boost Bonus Details state: Give your wallet a boost this spring! Get an extra $2.00 when you redeem <x amount> offers. In this case,anybranded offer will qualify toward the Bonus requirements.
A referral bonus
The user must refer a friend to Ibotta in order to receive Bonus credit.
NOTE: Ibotta may offer bonuses based on withdrawal activity or specific usage. Please review the bonus details for more information on how to redeem these bonuses.

However, your city, county, or state, may not have a high demand for that specific product in your area. Unfortunately, we cannot control the regional availability of products or brands in your local store.
PRO-TIP:We can, however, suggest that you talk with your local store or the brand that you wish to purchase, to see if you can get the product that you want in store or, for some of our retailers, online.

View ArticleOffer stacking is combining coupons, discounts, and Ibotta offers, to increase the amount of cash back or reduce the amount out of pocket. Additionally, Ibotta stacking is stacking an Any Brand offer on the same product that is eligible for a Brand Name offer.
The offer details is the best place to see if your offer is eligible for stacking. If you see something similar to, "May not be used with other coupons or promotions", the offer cannot be redeemed with manufacturer coupons, digital coupons, or other promotions. You can stack an any brand offer with a brand name offer but you cannot stack two brand name offers on the same product (unless you purchase enough products to satisfy each offer individually).
Online Shopping offers cannot be combined with promotional codes, discount codes, coupon codes, or additional retailer coupons and promotions.

However, similar to our offers, they can be reversed depending on the situation. A bonus can be reversed for the following reasons:
Your purchase, or product, was returned or canceled. When your purchase is verified, you will earn the bonus credit associated with any applicable bonuses. If your purchase is returned or canceled, your offer credit and bonus credit will be reversed.
Your offer did not meet the qualifications and this offer contributed to a larger bonus. When you work towards a bonus that requires a specific purchase or number of redemptions, you will earn the bonus credit once you complete the bonus. If we determined that a product that was claimed for an offer does not meet the qualifications, your offer credit and bonus credit will be reversed.
Your teammate had an offer or bonus that was reversed. When you participate in teamwork, you work towards a group monetary goal to earn bonuses faster. If a teammate has an offer or bonus reversed that contributed to the overall team goal, your bonus credit might be reversed.
The teamwork bonus can only be reversed if the earnings of the team for that level do not exceed the goal. In many cases, another teammates' earnings will more than make up for the reversal.
If your bonus is reversed, take a look at what the bonus is called. A teamwork bonus is the only bonus that can be reversed by a teammate. For a personal bonus, take a look at your notifications to see if you can find any reversed offers. If you feel that our system made a mistake or you would like your account reviewed, please write to us using Submit Request at the top.

Ibotta stores all of your earnings in your Ibotta account until you reach the withdrawal threshold of $20. Once you reach $20, you can withdraw your earnings or you can keep building them up.

Your "Lifetime Earnings" are displayed under your name in the Account tab.
Your "Current earnings" is displayed on the progress bar, in the white bubble.

An "Any Brand" offer is an offer that allows you to purchase a specific product by any brand of your choosing. An "Any Item" offer is an offer that allows you to receive credit on the purchase of any product, any size, any brand, of your choosing.
Any Brand example - please keep in mind that the phrase "Any Brand" will specifically be present in the name of the offer: Salty Snack - Any Brand, Milk - Any Brand, Frozen Meal - Any Brand. Follow these steps to verify your phone number:

Tap Withdraw Cash.
Choose your method of withdrawal.
Tap Verify Phone Number and enter your number, including the area code. Tap Send Verification Code.
Your device will immediately receive an SMS text message that includes a 7-digit number. Type this code into the available field, then tap Verify.
If you are having trouble retrieving the verification code, please check here.
Once the verification is successful, you will receive a "Device Verified" notification. Your phone has been successfully verified in our system and you are now able to withdraw your earnings.

How will Ibotta use my phone number?
Ibotta will only use your phone number for phone verification. Well never share your number with any other party, or text you promotional content without your explicit consent. Ibotta will never call you.
Will I be charged for Ibotta's text message?

What if I enter the wrong number?

How often will I need to verify my phone number?

View ArticleThere are a couple of reasons why you may experience trouble connecting your loyalty account to Ibotta:
Your account is already linked to an existing Ibotta account.
Even if you and your spouse have separate Ibotta accounts and do separate shopping, your joint loyalty account can only be linked to one of your accounts.
SOLUTION: Ask whoever wants to also link your joint account to obtain their own loyalty account or decide which Ibotta account will be the only account to redeem at this retailer.
The information you are trying to link is incomplete.
Most of us don't have our physical loyalty card anymore. Often, the loyalty account ID number presented on your receipt is shortened a number.
SOLUTION: Visit your local store's customer service department to ask for the number in its entirety. You can also create or log into your online account with the retailer, which is sometimes linked to your loyalty account, view your account information and enter the entire loyalty account ID.
You receive an error code when linking your card or account.
Words and phrases like "Failed" and "There was an error," and red text are error indicators.
SOLUTION: Double check the information that you have entered, including email and password. There may also be a connection issue with the retailer partner or our system; refresh the app and try again.
The Care Team is unable to connect, disconnect, or update loyalty accounts, or determine if it is already in use on another account.
View ArticleTeamwork bonuses are available as rotating bonuses with similar qualifications. You and your team work towards each level goal to earn additional rewards.
There are two goals associated with Teamwork:
Personal goal: number of successful offer redemptions
Team goal: total monetary value
For example, for January 2018 Level 1:
Your personal goal is 10 redemptions; excluding Any Brand, Any Item and multiple redemptions count as one (1) towards the bonus.
Your team goals is $10.00 in total redemptions.
An easy way to think of this is to imagine that you and the people that are directly on your team have a bucket. Every time you, or a person on your team, completes a redemption, the monetary amount that person earned is also put into the bucket. Everyone keeps contributing to the bucket until the bucket goal has been met for that level. Once the level goal for the team has been met, a new bucket will be started.
However, Teams generally meet Team goals much quicker than personal goals. Keep in mind that both goals must be met for the Level Bonus to be earned and to progress to the next level.

However, during high traffic times, the withdrawal can take up to 24 hours to show up in your PayPal account.
Ibotta payments should either be successfully received in your PayPal account, or they will be automatically failed upon withdrawal and you will see that no funds are removed from your Ibotta account.
If your Ibotta payment to PayPal is automatically failed, we suggest first checking the email address of the PayPal account that we have on file. Please tap Account, tap Withdraw Cash, and verify that the email address displayed next to PayPal is the correct address.If the PayPal address is correct, then the issue is likely related to the verification status of your PayPal account.
If you have a new PayPal account or one that you have not used before, it is possible that your account has not yet been verified through PayPal. Please contact PayPal for assistance with verifying your PayPal account. Once your account is verified, you should be able to successfully withdraw earnings to your PayPal account.

View ArticleWe're sorry about that! Here are some reasons why and what you can try to resolve it:
The app won't connect in a store.
Try toggling between wifi and data. Not all stores provide wifi but some do. Connect to the store's wifi to see if that helps.
The app won't connect on data.
Try toggling to wifi when you're at home.
The app won't connect on wifi.
Try clearing the history/cache and closing all other open apps. Another app might be taking over your device performance or running in the background.
The app just keeps spinning no matter what.
There may be a larger scale issue. Check our social media channels for any notifications.
Force the Ibotta app to close and restart your device.
Note: If the connectivity issue is not resolved by any of the steps above, please give the app an hour. There may be a larger issue at hand and we truly appreciate your patience.

Select a retailer
Tap YourList
Tap Edit
Tap the "-" to select the offer(s) you wish to remove
Click "Remove" on the top right of your screen
An offer will remain on Your List until you redeem the offer, remove the offer, or the offer expires.
View ArticleWhen you send a receipt to Ibotta, you will link offers to your receipt so that you can receive credit for those offers on the receipt.
Linking offers to a receipt is different than adding offers to your account. Linking offers is a part of the process of sending us a receipt to redeem specific offers. Adding offers is the action of tapping the plus sign of offers that you intend to redeem in the future.
After you have taken pictures of your receipt or scanned the barcode on the receipt, the app will attempt to match offers that have been added to your account to offers that it reads on your receipt. Depending on the information on the receipt, the app may automatically match all, some, or none of your offers. You will then either verify the offers or manually link any that are missing.
To link an offer to a receipt:
Select the offer from the list of available offers.
Adjust the quantity if necessary.
Scan the barcode(s) if requested
Once you have linked the offers to your receipt, complete the process and we'll review your purchase within 48 hours.

You may allow your earnings stack up until you reach your personal goal and withdraw when the time is right for you.However, when you keep your earnings in your account, the earnings may be subject to account maintenance fees if you discontinue using the app for six consecutive months. Do you have the correct payment account information?
Be sure you logged into PayPal using your correct account information including password.
It is also important that you tap "Agree" to linking your PayPal with your Ibotta account when initially linking your accounts together.
Do you have the correct email address?
Check the spelling of your email address to ensure that you have entered the correct information.
Are you having connectivity issues?
If the app is timing out or continuously loading, try again in an hour or so.
If you are still having trouble linking your payment account to your Ibotta account, please write our Care Team who will be happy to assist you.

Expiring Soon
The offer is expiring soon. Be sure to check your app often for your favorite offers and their expiration date and time.
Optional Multiples
Savers can purchase more than one of the same item and receive credit on multiple redemptions. Be sure to check the offer details for the maximum amount of times the offer can be redeemed on a single receipt.
Combination Offer
To fulfill the offer, two or more different items, possibly different varieties, brands, or products are required.
Multiples Required
At least two of the same or similar items are required to fulfill the offer qualifications. Depending on the offer, this can be displayed as x2, x5, etc. The icon will also appear in the lower right corner of the offer image.
Applicable Bonus
The offer counts toward a specific Bonus. Scroll down to see special Bonuses related to the offer and tap to view the Bonus details and expiration.

If you have not created a Walmart account yet:
From the Walmart retailer page within the Ibotta app, tap "Link Walmart account"

If prompted, download the Walmart app

In order to receive offer credit, you must use your Walmart Pay account.
You can still earn cash back by uploading receipts. Depending on the retailer, we may ask you to scan the product barcodes on the products you purchased so we can make sure you get cash back. Be sure to review your offers before collecting your cash back.

To add a payment method, navigate to the Account page, select Payments > Payment methods, select Add a debit or credit card and follow the prompts to add and save your payment method. You can also change or remove payment methods from this page.
View ArticleTo investigate your bonus progress, please go to My Earnings under Account within the Ibotta app:
Tap on the receipts under My Earnings that were submitted within the time frame of the bonus.
Scroll to the bottom of the displayed receipt to see which bonuses the receipt was applied towards.
Did you complete an Online Shopping offer that should count toward the bonus? Keep in mind that you will not see the bonus progress update until the Online Shopping offers pending period has completed and credit has been posted to your account balance.
If you notice a discrepancy in your bonus progress, please submit a request to the Care Team.
View ArticleA negative balance in your Ibotta account usually means that some funds were reversed. If you withdraw funds and then a reversal was made, your account balance can become negative.
A reversal in your account may be due to one of the following:
A receipt that was credited was determined to not meet receipt standards. Therefore, credit was removed from the receipt.
An item purchased for an offer was determined to not meet the offer qualifications. Therefore, credit for the item was removed from your account.
An item purchased for an offer was returned or the purchase was canceled (online shopping). Therefore, credit for the purchase was removed from your account.
An offer was reversed which resulted in a bonus no longer being completed. Therefore, credit for the offer and the bonus was removed from your account.
Not to worry though! You can put your account back in the positive by earning credits to get you back to zero. Once you hit zero, you will continue to earn in the positive.
If you feel that something was reversed in error, please contact our Care Team who would be happy to review your account with you.
View ArticleChanging the email address on your account keeps your account up to date and makes sure that you receive our messages.
To change the email address on your Ibotta account, you must have access to both accounts, new and old. If you no longer use your old email address, start the process below (until step 5) and then proceed to the lower portion of this article.
Follow these steps:
Tap Account on the Navigation Bar.
Tap Settings (gear icon).
Tap Update Profile.
Tap on your email address and make any necessary changes.
Tap Save.
You will receive a confirmation email to theold email address that will complete the change.
Once you have completed the change, you can log out and log back in using the new address.
If you do not have access to your old email address, please follow these steps:
Complete the steps above, up until step 5.
Write the Care Team.
Provide the following information:
First name
Date of birth
Any email addresses associated with Ibotta accounts
Last 4 digits of the phone number associated with your account
Our Team will verify the information within your account and update your email address.
If you are not already logged out, please log out of your account. You will be able to log in using your new email address.

This is a new user to Ibotta, who used your referral code when signing up, and you may have received a referral bonus for introducing this user to Ibotta. The new user will automatically be on your Team because they are linked to you with your referral code.
Ateammate is someone that you are connected to on social media or is a referral.
These people are on your Team and help you towards Teamwork goals (See more here). You are also on their Team and help them towards their Teamwork goals. You do not receive referral credit for someone who is on your team unless you referred that user. If a user is on your Team because you are friends on Facebook but you did not refer that user, you will not receive a referral bonus.
View ArticleIf you invite a new Saver to Ibotta, they must use your unique referral code when creating their account. Using your unique referral code links your account to the new Saver's account.
Here are some things that happen when your accounts are linked:
You are now on each other's teams.
You will work towards each other's team goals.
You will receive notifications about each other if you have notifications turned on.
Depending on the new Saver's redeemed offers, you may earn credit for inviting them.

If you need to change your password, whether you forgot it or want to update it for security, please follow the steps below.
For users who set up their Ibotta accounts with Facebook, you do not have an Ibotta password yet and will need to create one.
To reset, change, or create your password:
Log out of the app if you have not done so already. To log out, tap Account on the navigation bar, tap Settings, then tap Log Out.
If you are changing your password on a desktop or laptop, go to ibotta.com and click Log In, click Forgot Password, and enter your email address. Then proceed to Step 3.
At the bottom of the screen, tap Log In.
At the bottom of the screen, tap I forgot my password. Enter your account email address and tap Reset Password.
You will receive an email from Ibotta within 10 minutes that includes a link to reset your password.
If you do not receive the email to reset your password within 20 minutes of requesting the email, please write our Care Team at [email protected] for immediate assistance. There may be a block or hold on your email address that we will need to clear for you.
Tap or click the link within the email and you will be redirected to a web browser. In the web browser, you will enter and confirm your new password. Don't forget save it!
Once your new password has been saved, you can log back into your account. Be sure to save your new password before navigating away from the web page or your new password will not be saved.
