Ralph Martin ā Chairman of Sustainable Food Production at the University of Guelph at Loblaw Companies Limited
Executive Bio
Mr. Ralph Martin has been the Chairman of sustainable food production at the University of Guelph at Loblaw Companies Limited since March 2011. Mr. Martin guides the development of food and agriculture policy, with the end goal of improving the sustainability of agriculture and food production in Canada. He leads a national program in sustainable local food production, organize roundtables on the topic and create an industry advisory group to guide novel curriculum development. He also co-ordinates researchers in agriculture and food production and lead public and private-sector collaborations. He has been a Professor at NSAC since 1990 and is Director of the Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada. Mr. Martin founded in 2001 and the only institution of its kind in the country. In 2010, he launched Canada's Organic Science Cluster, the first federally funded program of its type.
