Mr. Orlando P. Carvalho has been Executive Vice President of Aeronautics at Lockheed Martin Corporation. since March 2013. Mr. Carvalho served as an Executive Vice President at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company since March 18, 2013. Mr. Carvalho served as Vice President and General Manager of the F-35 program at Lockheed Martin Corporation from August 1, 2011 to March 18, 2013 and from March 2012 to March 18, 2013 respectively. Mr. Carvalho served as Deputy of F-35 program at Lockheed Martin Corporation from August 01, 2011 to March 2012. Mr. Carvalho served as the President of Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors (MS2) from January 1, 2010 to August 1, 2011. He served as General Manager and Vice President of MS2's operations at Lockheed Martin Corporation until January 1, 2010. He managed the delivery of four Aegis systems to Spain. In his 35 years with Lockheed Martin, Mr. Carvalho has held several integral leadership positions, including Executive Vice President and General Manager of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program. In this role, he led the System Development and Demonstration program, aircraft production, flight testing and global sustainment of the three F-35 variants for the United States, eight partner countries and three foreign military sales customers. Previously, he served as Vice President and Deputy for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program; and General Manager and Vice President of Surface-Sea Based Ballistic Missile Defense Systems. In 1980, he joined the Aerospace Sector of the RCA Corporation, which ultimately became part of the Lockheed Martin Corporation in 1995. He is credited with establishing and building the Spanish Navy's F-100 Combat System program ??? Lockheed Martin's first significant entry into the European naval combat system market. Mr. Carvalho serves on the Board of Directors for the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum and on the Board of Advisors for the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Born in Vineland, New Jersey, Mr. Carvalho earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Fairfield University and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Maryland.
