Q&A With Lumeris Employees
Lumeris is changing the healthcare industry. Every employee within our organization plays an important part in that. In every department and every role, we offer strong opportunities for professional advancement and growth. We’ve created a set of guiding principles that impact everything we do. These principles define our interactions with each other and inspire the way we live and work within the organization each day.
How employees describe working at Lumeris
Lumeris was/is a startup branching from their Essence Medicare Advantage Plan. They ran off all their MA clients not just Mutual of Omaha. They have too may red pens in their risk adjustment department as "coders" don't know what's important which loses money for both them and their clients.
I was hired when the company was a small startup. The primary stockholder is a staunch liberal who made poor business decisions based on ideas of equity over competence. A new management team was brought in after a reorganization that was very heavy-handed and near-sighted. IMHO, we were stifled.
Dynamic work environment. Interesting projects centered around changing heathcare
Awful communication, awful culture, emotions run the company, too many non qualified employees, too many meetings but actual work never seems to be completed. Its so bad, Lumeris lost Mutual of Omaha which had 10 contracts and paid 10M per for a total loss of $100M year over year.
Most positions are great at this company but CSRs have a super high turnover rate and stressful job. Most other managers/positions seem to be decent.

What's the work from home policy like at Lumeris?
Very flexible. There are multiple remote employees in most departments so it helps facilitate this.
