Understanding that people are not robots. Stop taking talented people for granted. Stop expecting people's life to revolve around a job in retail.
Upper management gives very little help and support in growth opportunities, rarely visits counters, and is vast majority outside hires, so someone who's never worked the retail counter and admit they"don't do makeup so they don't know what to help with". Clueless to inner workings that turn cogs.
Listen to your artists questions and concerns, and provide genuine feedback, resources, answers etc. not some cookie cutter response that HR makes you rehearse.
