Mr. Michael G. Krauter serves as Vice Chairman and Director of Stores of Macy's Central Division at Macy's, Inc. Mr. Krauter served as vice chairman and Director of Stores of Macy's department stores - South at Macy's Inc. He served as the President and Chief Merchandising Officer of the Atlanta-Based division of Federated Department Stores Inc. since February 3, 2004. Mr. Krauter served as Executive Vice President and Director of Stores at Richs /Lazarus / Goldsmiths of Macys since 2001. Mr. Krauter, a native of Roselle, NJ, began his retail career as a sales manager at Macy's East in 1979, rising to subsequent positions as buyer, store manager and merchandise administrator before moving to Macy's South-Bullock's as vice president/merchandise administrator in 1988. He returned to Macy's East in 1992 as a group vice president of merchandising, and was named senior vice president of merchandising in 1993 and general merchandise manager in 1996. He was executive vice president of merchandising at Macy's West in 1999. He is a 1979 graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Business Administration.
