Mr. Michael T. Schroepfer, also known as Mike, has been the Chief Technology Officer of Facebook, Inc. since March 15, 2013 and also served its Vice President of Engineering since September 2008. Mr. Schroepfer is responsible for harnessing Facebook's culture of speed, creativity and exploration to build products, services and infrastructure that support the more than 1 billion people worldwide who use Facebook. Before Facebook, he served as Vice President of Engineering of Mozilla Corporation from December 2005 to August 2008. He led the global, collaborative, open and participatory product development process behind Mozilla's popular software, such as the Firefox web browser. Prior to Mozilla, he served in various positions of Sun Microsystems, Inc and served as its Chief Technology Officer of data center automation division, where he helped set the technical direction for architecture, industry standards, partnerships and acquisition strategy for the business unit and had technical oversight for many of Sun's software product lines. Mr. Schroepfer co-founded CenterRun, Inc. and served as its Chief Architect and Director of Engineering. Prior to CenterRun, he consulted for numerous startups to help them build initial technology infrastructure and hire engineering teams. He built the digital video effects software used in motion pictures such as 'Star Wars: The Phantom Menace' and 'Gladiator'. He has been a Director at Ancestry.com Inc. since January 20, 2011. He has been a Member of Advisory Board of Vyatta, Inc. since May 2006. He was a Distinguished Engineer, one of Sun's highest technical accolades. He has filed two U.S. patents. Mr. Schroepfer holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
