Q&A With Mr. Cooper Employees
Step through the doors of our Dallas headquarters and a few things may catch your eye: One, there’s really cool artwork everywhere. Our unique Artists in Residence program brings talented artists from around the world to use our walls as canvasses for their magnificent artwork. (It’s really hard not to be creatively inspired here.) You’ll also notice that most of us are casually dressed… and if you look a little closer, we have a relaxed attitude to match our threads. Make no mistake, we work very hard for our customers every single day. But Mr. Cooper isn’t one of those "pressure-cooker" offices, and we’re big on work-life balance. We want the members of our corporate family to enjoy plenty of quality time with their own families. We also encourage (and act upon) team members’ feedback. In addition to quarterly anonymous surveys where you tell us how we’re doing as an employer, managers and executives are always happy to hear directly from you and discuss relevant topics. And every month, a small group of high performers representing all levels of the company are invited to a casual breakfast where they share and discuss ideas with our friendly.

As of 2020, everyone is allowed to work from home. Because of COVID, the entire company put people 1st and went to 100% remote office in the 1st week of March 2020. "Homecentric" is the new norm.

dental insurance
Full benefits are provided, medical, dental, vision, STD and paid time off. The thing is they are VERY expensive and the coverage isn't good.

There is no career path that is both technical and management.
I do not earn money for the company so I do not make the bonus's as everyone else.
The work life balance is extremely off kilter! The salary does not effectively represent the hours worked!
How hard is it to get promoted at Mr. Cooper?
If you are a management golden boy/girl, it is very easy.
If you’re a favorite then it’s easy. Cute girls and white get promoted.
What should I wear for an interview at Mr. Cooper?
Business casual is good. It’s a call center environment but they look at professionalism
The office dress culture is extremely lax, so just about anything would work, but if I were you, I'd followi the motto "Dress to Impress".
What's the company culture like at Nationstar Mortgage?
There is opportunity for the culture to be great, they just aren't there yet. There's a lot of unfairness, little room for advancement unless you came from collections, and the company can be very cheap sometimes. The people I work with are great, but the company has a long way to go before the culture lines up with the values rolled out.
It's the worst place I've ever worked. Call centers always have quirky things but Nationstar amplified the quirky and added a big splash of favorites, sexist promoting and massive negativity. Even though they claim to be rebranding the company, lipstick on a pig is still a pig. No thanks! Best move I made was to their competition
