How's the vacation policy at NBCUniversal?
Varies team by team-- as long as you and your manager/HR are communicative, taking time off and getting approvals should be easy. I never felt guilty asking for deserved time off (as long as given in advance and making sure no one else on the team was out), but I also know other teams who didn't operate this way.
What's the company culture like at NBCUniversal?
Culture used to be very relaxed and friendly (with in-person global group meetings and numerous group outings, which promoted interpersonal connections); now with Comcast influencing has grown more tense (no global meetings, fewer outings) with tighter deadlines and increased deliverable requirements.
What are your coworkers at NBCUniversal like?
Outwardly laid-back, relaxed, & friendly; in closer discussion tight-lipped, private, uncomfortable voicing opinions contrary to management.
What part of NBCUniversal's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Parks + Film is growing non-stop. Broadcasting always lags a bit, since it's non-digital.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at NBCUniversal?
1. Encourage management to allow employees more flexibility with work arrangements (ie. allow WFH 1-3 days a week) office presence is not essential. 2. Award bonus-eligible employees stock options + monetary bonuses. 3. Encourage management to award raises and bonuses based on PERFORMANCE, not spread across a group to avoid hurt feelings.

Everyone I know approves of the CEO; we have monthly financial updates presented by him (live and via broadcast). NBCU does high-level internal communication well; company needs to improve its compensation packages for mid-level (under VP/C-suite) management.
What's the interview process like at NBCUniversal?
If you're going for an experienced hire role, it depends on the department. My interview process took over 5 months - 3 phone interviews with HR, then direct management, 2 in person interviews - and that was working through a recruiter.
