I think the culture overall at Nucor is something to be proud of. Our GM takes pride in us as a team to get the job done without incidents. He is a good leader and leads by example. I feel very comfortable at work and enjoy it.
What makes you most happy at work?
Having a busy day, interacting with the customers. Getting orders I have quoted. My teammates.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Insurance is good, vacation time is acceptable. Bonus's and Yippee are a huge factor on accepting my base annual salary.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Typically everyone is happy. We enjoy each others company and like to do things outside of work together. Internally, I think that makes better working relationships.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Generally, they care about our well being and take care of us like a family. Very engaging, communication is great, you always know what is going on within the company and in the building. They are honest, and forthcoming.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We get along very well. We laugh, and can laugh at ourselves and not feel like we are made fun of. Everyone can accept criticism when needed amongst us. When someone has an idea of how to communicate better or we support and praise.
