I couldn't be happier to work at Nucor. I've had to move so far to 2 states that I don't have a network in currently, and I was happy to do so because of the opportunity the move presents. My goal is to have this be a career, and not just another job stop.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The entire team always lends a hand, regardless of their position or yours.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I think that the best part of our compensation package is those outside of the norm with a sales job (i.e. salary and bonus) like the stock purchase program, profit sharing, and other profitability bonuses.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We are also conversing on situations or issues that we are having with our customers, and that always helps get input on how you can handle a similar situation. There is always conversation amongst teammates.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Our team has a true "teammate" mentality, and will always approach a situation with whatever is better for the collective long term. There is also an overall sense of pride in working for Nucor, and that shows day to day.
What makes you most happy at work?
I had a previous job that I knew I was just another employee at, even in a team lead position. That couldn't be further from the case at Nucor. I feel appreciated every day that I go to work, and the compensation shows that tenfold. It's very easy to work diligently for a company that respects you.
