Jim Sullivan is President and CEO of NWN Carousel, the leading Cloud Communications Service Provider (CCSP) powering hybrid work for more than 7,000 customers across North America. Over the past 3 years, Jim has transformed NWN Carousel into a national technology powerhouse with 1200 employees delivering over $1B in sales bookings while doubling revenue in 2021. The company has consistently been recognized as a 'Best Place to Work' and a 'Fastest Growing Company in Boston." Jim has also been recognized twice by Ernst & Young as an Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist in 2021 and 2022.
With more than 30 years of enterprise technology industry experience, he has a proven track record of scaling both emerging and established companies for rapid global growth.
Prior to NWN, Jim served as President of Actifio from February 2011 until May 2019, driving the cloud software company to a unicorn valuation of $1.3 billion, with more than 3,500 global customers and a 50% CAGR ultimately leading to a successful acquisition by Google in December 2020. He led sales, presales, channels, OEM distribution and co-developed Actifio’s company strategy from pre-revenue through high-growth, cash-flow positive with global operations and holds two US patents #10613938 and #10691659 for data virtualization. Prior to Actifio, Jim served as President of enterprise storage provider XIV, responsible for business direction and go-to-market model, including sales, marketing, and global services. After XIV was acquired by IBM in 2008, Jim ran the business for three years as VP of IBM Storage, generating over $1 billion in total sales. Previously Jim was CEO of CentrePath Network, and prior to that, he spent 12 years helping to grow EMC Corporation from $80 million to more than $10 billion in annual global sales, serving in several senior management positions culminating in SVP of Sales, among the top executives in the company.
Jim served as a Board Director of AppIQ until its acquisition by HP in 2005, and of Diligent, a deduplication software pioneer acquired by IBM. Jim also served as a Board Director of Titus – a Blackstone Company – from 2018 until its acquisition by HelpSystems in 2020. Currently serves on the board of CDS, a New State Capital Partners portfolio company.
