There were some great and highly skilled people who worked there. That being said, the management culture was toxic. I also noticed that about 25% of the employees & contractors working there handled about 95% of the workload.
About 10% of the individual contributors supported about 90% of the the work. Management level employees were very political and many were poorly trained and/or not qualified for the positions that they held. There were some very nice people, but the company culture was very negative.

I have a remote work agreement in place to support working from home when necessary. I take advantage of this as much as possible to save over two hours a day in commute. This commute is just from the east Bay Area. Remote working seems inconsistent and may not be generally supported varying by department and job requirements.

Working at PG&E is job for me, not a career. The pay as a contractor is decent. That being said, dys are filled with a lot of unnecessary meetings, redundant paperwork, and politics. It's not a positive or fulfilling environment. The San Francisco office is essentially a cubicle farm. It's fine if all you're looking for is a paycheck.

Their legal team, due to all of the regulatory violations and lawsuits.

The CEO was new, but severe and ill thought out cost cutting initiatives were being implemented to help increase the stock price. Most employees I spoke with had a negative outlook.
