How's the feedback proccess at Panduit?
Getting better. It's expected in our new culture, and all employees are trained in how to ask for and give it. Formal feedback conversations between managers and employees are required and they just announced that they will be tracking to make sure they're actually happening.
It varies from manager to manager, but the expectation is that managers and employees have regular, formal feedback conversations on a regular basis -- at least once a quarter, with a requirement that the employee documents that the conversation took place. Feedback is key to the changing culture at Panduit, so it's emphasized quite a bit.
Not great. Once a year really.
How challenged are you at Panduit?
Like most things in life, that's really more up to you than it is the company you work for. You can probably be as challenged as you choose to be. If you're not challenged, and want to be, there are plenty of opportunities to stretch. It is becoming harder to be a person who isn't open to being challenged and doing things differently at Panduit.
You can be as challenged as you want.
How's the work pace at Panduit?
It really depends on the function you report to. It can be challenging. Much of it depends on the time of year, but again, depending on where you work.
Hurry up and wait.
How do you feel about going to work at Panduit everyday?
Love my job, love my team, love not going into the city, love what the company is doing.
Better since I moved to a new department last month.
How's the morale at Panduit?
Employee engagement has improved dramatically over the past 5 years.
Depends on the departments. Overall I’d say it’s less than average.
What do people at Panduit think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
The other answer is 2 years old. People love the new CEO - more openness and transparency, more clarity around strategy and mission, holding people accountable, extremely accessible, employee engagement is a top priority, making changes in the organization to be more competitive, focus on innovation, etc.
N/a - no visibility into the CEO never heard anyone to reference him.
How's the work life balance at Panduit?
Getting better all the time. They just introduced telecommuting and revamped their PTO to be much more competitive.
Depends on your abilities. The reward for doing good work is more work. Which compounds consistently.
How's the vacation policy at Panduit?
Very good. Three weeks to start then you accrue more as your tenure increases. You also get a volunteer day off, your birthday, and 10 paid holidays per year.
Average. 2 weeks to start.
How does Panduit make decisions around promotions?
I don't know which department the other person who answered works in, but people are promoted at Panduit all the time. Decisions are made based on performance and ability -- if there isn't someone internally to fill the role, they look outside, but employees always have the first opportunity for positions.
I’ve rarely seen someone promoted at Panduit. They bring people in from the outside instead
How secure do you feel at your job at Panduit?
Reasonably secure, but results matter.
Who did you meet with during your interview? And how long did it take to hear back from Panduit?
My future boss and several others. It was a fairly long process.
What should I wear for an interview at Panduit?
Business casual.
How would you compare interviewing at Panduit to other places you've interviewed?
I think the interview process at Panduit is pretty extensive compared to other companies.
How flexible is your work schedule at Panduit?
Very flexible, although I understand it varies from department to department.
What's the internship program like at Panduit?
Very strong. Several of our top-tier leaders started out in our co-op/internship program.
How does Panduit handle HR issues?
That's a very broad question. I guess I'd say it's the same as most companies.
How innovative is Panduit?
VERY. 1000 US patents and counting. Innovation is a key part of our culture.
Does Panduit have a volunteer program?
Yes -- it's new and expanding.
What perk or benefit should Panduit have?
They've really improved and updated their benefits quite a bit over the past few years, so it's hard to say. I guess expanding telecommuting?
How often do promotions happen at Panduit?
Typical with other companies.
What are the most important soft skills I need to be successful at Panduit?
Being able and willing to give and receive feedback; welcoming feedback and improving your work based on it.
What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at Panduit?
If you don't know, say so. The worst thing you can ever do at Panduit is try to fudge your way through or around something. It's always been that way, and still is. There are very good, smart people here who are willing to help you get up to speed and learn -- just don't fake it. Our founder was famous for telling people he'd rather hear "I don't know" or "what I did didn't work" because that puts you closer to solving the problem at hand.
What is the daily attire at Panduit?
Casual. Dressy jeans, etc.
What is Panduit's policy towards pets in the workplace?
No pets. Not yet, anyway. A lot has changed here in the past few years in terms of telecommuting, casual work attire, flex time, etc.. Who knows what will happen down the road?
Is it possible to switch teams at Panduit? If so, what is the process?
Most definitely. There are many people here who have had 2 or 3 completely different careers -- moving from Finance or Product Development to HR or IT, for example. That's one of the company's biggest strengths, in my opinion. At Panduit, talent is talent.
