Pier 1 Imports Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

The best part about the compensation package is the discount employees receive.

Review from Sales Dept

It's exactly what I'm looking for

Review from Sales Dept

Paid sick leave is great

Review from Sales Dept

We get 20 days paid vacation

Health insurance is good quality and priced well.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Pay was just minimum wage but yet position required some knowledge of interior design, customer interaction, shipping procedures, etc.

Review from Sales Dept

Associate discounts continue to be cut. Pay is less than other retail employers is the area

Review from Sales Dept

If there is pressure to make big sales on items like furniture, then we should get some kind of recognition or compensation. It's basically just a "Good job! Here's your minimum wage."

Review from Sales Dept

Commission would be nice. Customer get better deals than employees do

Review from Sales Dept

The pay does not match the manual labor that is expected from you

Review from Sales Dept

there is a lot of favoritism on how each employee is scheduled and not enough hours given to even get benefits. i feel undervalued because managers do not train employees rather they throw them in and not show them key tricks to their job.

Review from Sales Dept

the company made bad choices and employees pay for it

Review from Sales Dept

I have been there now almost 5 years as a part-time employee, and almost everyone is part-time. I have never had a review and neither have my fellow employees. They pay less than most retail jobs do now. I stay because I like the people I work with, but P1 offers us little reward for our work.

Review from Sales Dept

perhaps if the company was putting investible money back into the company and its associates rather than making big contracts and stock options packages to attract executives the company might be doing better

We do too much work for the money they offer oh, more than any other retailer I've ever worked for. I do the store manager's job and only get paid assistant manager money.

Review from Sales Dept

Our associates are paid $4.00 less/hour than starting employees at Target that have no experience.

Review from Sales Dept

We worked incredibly hard over the past year to try to re-launch the brand and update the in-store experience and we were not compensated for that hard work.

Review from Marketing Dept

Our closest competitor's starting pay is $12/hour for people with no experience. We barely pay above minimum wage so people leave us for the competition all the time.

Review from Sales Dept

If my compensation was reflective of the work I do and not the title I have . By the way, my title doesn't exist outside of Pier 1.

Review from Marketing Dept

Only received cost of living increase for 3 years even with an "exceeds expectations" on performance review. Being asked to work 5-10 hours per week in overtime on a regular basis, sometimes 15-20 hours of overtime. If we need to work more, pay more or hire more people.
