Friendly, helpful training, always offered ways to improve interacting with customers without making employees feel bad
Review from Sales Dept
I gets lots of support but no micro-managing. If I run into a situation that I need help with, several Managers (higher up than I) are only a phone call away and always willing to advise or walk me through whatever I need help with. At the same time, though, no one is standing over my shoulder.

My co-workers, store manager and I get along. I don't like there is high pressure to make large sales, but we don't get any commission or even recognition for those sales. You end up wondering what's the point of pushing for big sales.

The leadership team is great to work with!
Review from Sales Dept
What I like best about the leadership team is their ability to communicate directions/information clearly. Personally I think the overall dynamic is ideal.

They aren't afraid to take risks
How they are willing to try new things all the time to see if they will work or if the customers respond. They are willing to take risks.
Review from Sales Dept
They’re very helpful and approachable. If I have any issues or don’t understand something I feel comfortable asking for help.

There are some people who drive for positive change while many others just get by with business as usual.
We call all our executives by their first name and they are approachable and very supportive.

buying and pricing of products
Review from Sales Dept
There is no cohesive look to the store, especially in furniture offerings. It's just random statements of lots of chairs or tables, but nothing that really conveys a look or style for decorating a room. The store is full of stuff that you can find at the Dollar Tree, but at four times the price.
Review from Sales Dept
clearer communication with front line staff regarding the state of the company
Pricing, keeping with trends, employee incentives, and much more

Learning what really happens in the stores, maybe asking the employees who work with customers every day. We hear what the customers say and what they want and no one in the home office ever asks all of us.
Review from Sales Dept
Making unilateral decisions that involve all applicable parties. Not acting impulsively. Maybe giving up like $10,000 a year of their salaries so the rest of the company can get a simple cost of living raise.
Review from Marketing Dept
Listening to the associates that work on the front line. A lot of decisions get made in the home office that don't make sense or will cost money. We know what customers want or don't want, what they are asking for. So stop and ask us!!

Making better decisions that will help the company financially.

Agreement on direction of efforts, what are priorities, where to cut out bad spending and redirect to more effective areas.
