There are two interviews. One is a phone interview with Recruiter. Second is with management of the hiring officer. I don't recall the timeframe
What was the most difficult question that was asked during your interview at Progressive Insurance?
No job being perfect, tell me about a time when you were dissatisfied with your previous employer and how you handled the situation
What's the vibe like in the Design dept at Progressive Insurance? How many hours are you working?
Totally casual vibe! I usually work 36-40 hours a week. Sometimes more if needed but I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule.
How's the feedback proccess at Progressive Insurance?
We have Anytime Feedback which encourages employees to talk to each other and improve or recognize behaviors.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Progressive Insurance?
Chances of moving up are higher if you're based off Cleveland, OH. Other locations get overlooked until they run into a resource deficit or they can no longer overlook the low skill in Cleveland.
What's the vibe like in the IT dept at Progressive Insurance? How many hours are you working?
There's a lot of movement so it's very active.
What's the IT team like at Progressive Insurance?
Very inclusive. There's is lots of competition at the bottom and incredible mentors at the top.
How's the leadership on the IT team at Progressive Insurance?
It depends on your level. Management can be very hands-off or micromanaging everything, for the latter type makes the actual engineers do admin work rather than technical (if you wanna move up you gotta do it). I've had both, current is very hands-off and my productivity has soared.
What's the pay like for IT roles at Progressive Insurance?
Definitely above market, especially for out of college students. Young professionals with an IT degree can be making $65000 in OH or CO and all you have to show for it is "leadership skills" and "willingness to learn"
How's the vacation policy at Progressive Insurance?
It's very fair. You earn time with every paycheck. First year I was employed here I got 18 days total for the year. I get more the more tenure as well.
What is the best part about your compensation package at Progressive Insurance?
Love that we have Gainshare and can receive a bonus based on company performance each year
