How employees describe working at Ranker

Utilizing a lot of tools that made it better

Laid off some of their highest performing editors and writers via Zoom after a few months of declining traffic with zero attempts to course correct. Terrible upper management and criminally underpaid across the board. Do not work here.

Laid off ~15% of the company when struggling for cash after several booming years during the pandemic, but still maintains that they should keep a giant office nobody uses because 99% of employees have switched to fully remote. Trash company.

I really enjoy my job at Ranker. The product is great and I LOVE my team. We're seeing huge growth and it's not slowing down. My manager is really supportive but allows me to be autonomous.

true start-up growth vibe. love being in a room of people smarter than me. ranker is a leader in their space. thankful to be here.

Asked to all employees at Ranker

  • it's a growing startup, on some levels the culture is very loose and "flat" (you can walk up to CEO and ask him things, and he is responsive as long as you get to the point). there is not a lot of heirarchical BS. work hours are relatively flexible (probably due to LA traffic considerations). the office space is nice. there are free meals once or twice a week, massages every few weeks, happy hours and what not. there are some growing pains - they only recently hired a head of marketing, and didn't have a head of BD for a long time.

  • Younger, scrappy culture.
