Lot of favoritism when it comes to promotion. There people with title "Director" or " Group Director" with no one reporting
Certain IT departments are easier to be promoted in. In the Infrastructure area there seem to be less promotions than in the development side.

You can go to HR with a group of people to complain about a manager with a high turnover rate and nothing is done.

What is the onboarding process like at Ryder System and how long does it last?
On boarding is a couple of days. It’s just going through the basics and giving login info. Continual training is offered throughout employment.
What perk or benefit should Ryder System have?
Bring back the mifi’s for sales / management. Half of my locations don’t have WiFi and I’m always on the road.
What part of Ryder System's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
I feel all parts of the business are growing much quicker than Uses Vehicle Sales.

Generally, from what I’ve seen, our interviews aren’t as uptight and usually flow well. We have questions we are required to ask but gives us a good perspective on how the interviewee’s thought process is or how they would handle a situation.
What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at Ryder System?
Take notes! Ask questions and don’t get discouraged if you make a mistake or feel lost. It takes a good 3-4 months to build the foundation for any new position, so if ever overwhelmed, stop, take a deep breath, slow down and go through whatever you’re working on, step by step.
How do I do well in an interview at Ryder System?
Speak to others around you and ask for advice. People to talk to would be managers, those currently in the role being applied for or those who have already been in the role. Look into the duties of the role and also research anything available in our internal system.
Is it possible to switch teams at Ryder System? If so, what is the process?
Yes. This could be answered many different ways, based on our product lines offered, however, I’ll give a couple basic examples: - Changing teams could mean shifting locations or counters, meaning moving people who run the rental department, as an example, to another location. - Another example would be if the employee is new, they have to wait 12 months or if an employee past 12 months, you must be in role a minimum of 6 months in that product line, before a move to another product line - however, rules have exceptions. These exceptions are based per situation and must be approved by all management and directors involved.
