To get paid more several employees have had to get offers from competitors. Then SG is willing to match. Why not get ahead of the situation and pay the top performers what they're worth before they go through the entire interviewing process with a competitor?
The reward for working long hours and doing a good job isn't any kind of recognition, either verbal or monetary, it's simply even more work. To improve this, we need to find a way to reward the top performers fairly and help them with work/life balance.
If HR has a way they'd like something communicated, odds are it's not the right way to communicate it. Too many false spins put on negative things. Let's just be honest when something negative happens, and own it. The first step to solving something is admitting there's a problem
