  • Difficult. Too many competing priorities and not enough cooperation. The atmosphere is frequently very adversarial.

  • I met with the hiring manager and several members of the team for my initial analyst role. To be interviewed for the manager role I eventually took on I met with both the customers (Scripps Medical Foundation leaders) and had several interviews with various other IS leaders. Both decisions reached me within a week or so but I strongly believe that was because I was hired. While I worked there for several years I put in applications for other positions and never heard back at all.

  • It can be lengthy, but seems very fair. Interviews are non-pressured, although differing departments may have slightly differing styles. That said, the interview process is standardized to a point, so you're unlikely to find too many interviewers with rampant artistic license. Typically only one interview after HR clearance; uses Taleo, so it certainly isn't extremely intuitive, but patience usually is the best policy, despite a seeming lack of progress updates within the system from application to interview.
