What makes you most happy at work?We are changing the future of publishing and helping authors achieve their dreams. It's the most fun I have had in a long time at work!
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company? We have a culture of improvement. "Best is Standard" is one of our pillars. This is both a good and hard because it requires you to bring your best every day and when you "mail it in" it shows and it's not something you can hide. I think that is both good and challenging.
What do you like best about the leadership team? They are honest, they give their best, and they care about you as a person in addition to your performance. They gave me special exceptions to vacations and time off I needed for my family that is invaluable.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?Pay on time and be honest with customers and contractors
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better? There is so much bureaucracy and lack of communication allowed between contractors and employees.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation? They pay late, and they constantly fight back when contractors need more hours to complete the tasks assigned
The purpose of our company is to disrupt the publishing industry, put the publishers out of business, and show people that self publishing is not only an option, it's the BEST option. The publishing industry is broken. Big publishers suck. Our company exists to show people there is a better way... A way that doesn't involve using a publisher, wasting 2 years of your life, giving away your creative liberties, giving away your book royalties, and relying on a publisher that doesn't market your book.
