They ask for our feedback, work outside of their scheduled hours to help the team, always get you an answer and if they don't know it they reach out to others to find it for you.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Fire the manager and hire someone who is a real manager.
Investing in their employees so they can come to work.
Find new people , genuinely . 50-65% of leadership pawns work to their lessers and sit around and do nothing while playing favorites and protecting whoever they can
Emotional control and adequate staffing
Not lying about future opportunities and when presented with hurdles, not to cuss out their employees and threaten them.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
You can pick and choose the major benefits (health, dental, vision), but no matter how many hours you work, you are provided with above and beyond benefits including discounts and an extensive Employee Assistance Program

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Sheetz as a corporation makes roughly $300,000 per employee. These funds never see the average service worker, without whom the company wouldn't exist. The average service worker makes around $30,000 a year, while generating 10 times that amount for the company
Been here a year and a month , cover shifts . Do managers work. Havent been offered even whisper of a raise. Not sure theres a fix ffor that
I had to get tooth surgery and was told to find my replacement. When I was unable to, I was told that my surgery wasn't a big deal and I can work the night. Since it is a minimum wage position, I should be able to feel like the store has my back in personal matters outside of work.
i would work 10-plus hours and still get minimum wage. i would feel better about my compensation if Sheetz would pay its employees like they actually care about their business and not just making and keeping money for themselves.

What are some of the best things about your team?
We are like a family - we help each other get stuff done at work, and many of us have developed personal friendships as well. The team comes together to help cover call-offs when people are sick or otherwise unable to make their shift.
The team is the base for the store and my team works really hard to make sure they meet the friendlness score with the customers

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Come to work and come on time
Employees are generally incredibly apathetic and take little care of the stores. If better compensated for their work I am certain employees would care much more for the quality of their stores.
Its not their fault management doesnt train or know who to hire
More staff, treat everyone fair and upper management needs to be more understanding
Drama needs to stop. Belittling needs to stop. Treating others like they are beneath them needs to stop. Communication needs to greatly improve. Giving tasks to others just because they don’t want to do them. Honestly a lot of things could improv

Each one of us come in with positive vibes to make sure that the culture in our store is perfect
They care about life outside of working. They want you to be there for family

The nice customers that come in and make the shift better
The people at Sheetz are genuine and hard working, however they are overworked and overstressed. And with the anti-union sentiment created and fostered by corporate policies, this is unlikely to change.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Everything very unwelcoming place with rude management
The store I'm at is apparently not a good store to be at if you're straight. I'm the minority and they definitely make me feel like it! It's not fair!
Treat all employees fairly and equally. Be more appreciative of the employees.

More Communication and stop lying
I wasn't interviewed. I was pitched the job. Promised of major stock options and huge opportunities that were never explained. Manager pointed at the sales floor and said this is what you're gonna be doing.

At my store we hire anything that walks. If you are a terrible human being who can't read or do anything decent apply to sheetz. They'll hire you and you'll work here until you stop showing up like every other person we hire on the spot.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
The distance between managements expectations/actual work production compared to the work production of the associates is miles wide. Zero reinforcements from store manager. I never received a compliment but only belittlement. All my reinforcements came from the other associates.
A complete restructure for starters. There's problem managers who need to be let go because they're not being managers, at all. They have no idea what it means to be a manager and actually develop a team. Their mindset is throwing each other under the bus to move up. It's completely toxic.
Burned out managers need to be weeded out faster, not just sent to a different store.
