Shutterfly Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

DTO, flexibility, and hybrid model

Review from Operations Dept

I appreciate the the merit increases and bonuses for all the hard work accomplished for the year.

Review from Finance Dept

I so very much appreciate the yearly bonus. It allows me to financially pay for larger projects or take a family vacation. I love the free Shutterfly products. I have been able to give meaningful gifts to family over the years. I appreciate the 401(k) match, which helps me save for retirement.

Review from Finance Dept

the 401k match is decently good.

Review from IT Dept

The annual bonus provides me with the financial security I need to support my family and enrich our lives. Without it we would need to go without some of the things we enjoy or I would be forced to get a second job.

Review from IT Dept

The bonus program is very nice.

Review from Finance Dept

Bonus structure is good when the targets are achievable. The LTIP program is also nice.

Review from Operations Dept

Adequate pay for the position

discretionary time off vs PTO sets SFLY different from other employers

Review from IT Dept

The 401k match is best

Review from IT Dept

The Long Term Incentive Program

Review from IT Dept

LTIP and the ability to compound payments as you accrue years of employment

Review from Finance Dept

Bonus in March is nice

Pay, DTO, and work-life balance

Review from Finance Dept

The bonus option at the end of the year

Review from Finance Dept

LTIP component pay in compensation

Review from IT Dept

Discretionary time off and my manager's blessing to use plenty of it.

Review from Finance Dept

Discretional Time Off - it is a great perk to be at a company that trusts its employees to do their role and take off time as they see fit.

Review from Finance Dept

Base pay seems to meet market rate.

Review from IT Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Peers out there are earning higher

Review from Finance Dept

I should be paid what I am worth. Not just what the average area pays for this job. Everyone has different skill sets and those should be recognized.

Review from Finance Dept

Lack of transparency on compensation for roles. Raises being dependent on performance (even cost of living raises) is frustrating, especially during high inflation.

Review from Finance Dept

I've been taking on additional challenges each year and my pay has barely moved. Bonuses are nice, but a bump in base pay would make me feel valued.

Review from Operations Dept

We're pushed into our direct reports ratings. Limited on who we can give 'exceeds' to and who gets how much of an overall % of a raise. Often based on who got what the year before. I hate having to pick who gets an exceeds when I have multiple highly performing employees.

Review from Operations Dept

Most all other organizations pay a much higher salary for the same role I have here. We did not get a raise or a bonus in 4 years, then last year received a very small raise.

Review from IT Dept

The cost of benefits are probably the most expensive I have had at any company. UHG should not be the carrier for many reasons. I don't believe that the team is fairly promoted in comparison to overall spend and responsibility. We have taken on additional responsibilities and companies.

Review from Finance Dept

Bonuses have been inconsistent, and pay feels more on the lower end of the market

Review from Finance Dept

Comparing pay on linkedin, we are underpaid. Also, the tiny increases year over year do not even cover the cost of living increases.

Review from IT Dept

I have been underpaid the entire time I have worked for Shutterfly. I stuck around due to the fun atmosphere and great group of people that I work with. That all changed and now it's just a job, but I'm actively looking for a new one. Shutterfly has not even paid me the COLA.

Review from Engineering Dept

Been with the company a long time and had promotions and exceeds expectations and the average pay increase over that time is 3% which is about what inflation/cost of living is over that time.

Review from Finance Dept

Bonus payment no matter the company's performance, some type of stock options

Review from Finance Dept

To be paid more in line with my job title

Review from Finance Dept

This year is the first time in about 4 years that my pay rate has seen an increase, and it's very tiny. In the face of rising housing costs, rising grocery costs, rising everything costs, it doesn't feel like it'll help that much.

Review from Operations Dept

Have taken on additional, significant job responsibilities that were not a part of the job description when I was hired and no change in pay or title occured.

On contract and not employed through Shutterfly/ Lifetouch

Review from HR Dept

Adjusted for inflation, my TC is down 50% from 2018 when we had RSUs. An equity position / RSU equivalent shared with a larger part of the organization is needed.

Review from Operations Dept

I was laid off after my team's work alone brought in an incredible amount of revenue. Me and my team won a Top Shot award for this...but we were all laid off two days before the award was announced. While I appreciate the recognition and the monetary awards, DO BETTER. Stop the yearly layoffs.

Review from Marketing Dept

More robust benefits outside of just pay, not having to come into the office

I'm not fairly compensated for my role and the cost of living
