Shutterfly Leadership Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

They are doing their best

Review from Finance Dept

Very supportive, I am able to stay connected on a day to day basis. Expectations are clear and leadership is approachable and ready to assist when the need arises. I think very highly of my leadership team!

Review from Finance Dept

I like the path leadership is on to bring the company back to profitability. I am thankful for the benefits that are offered. I appreciate seeing the ways leadership is trying to bring employees together that all work in different locations - virtual events, fun committee, etc.

Review from Finance Dept

I like their alignment, working towards the same goals.

Review from IT Dept

The communication from our leadership Team is clear and concise about how they are reacting to market demands.

Review from IT Dept

More clarity than previous leadership on goals and current progress/status on goals. Feels more transparent.

Review from Finance Dept

Monthly meetings, planned appropriately for bonuses, continuation of work from home

Review from Operations Dept

The Executive Team provides regular updates on company progress, status, and goals.

Review from Finance Dept

The way that they are open and communicating to everyone at least once a month

Review from Finance Dept

The leadership team is more transparent than we have had before. It gives clear direction and intention.

Review from Finance Dept

They lead with openness and transparency

Review from IT Dept

Communicative and focused on driving the business forward, but also have incorporated a focus on projects that are achievable and make sense strategically.

Review from Finance Dept

Embrace Diversity along with Inclusion

Review from Finance Dept

I appreciate that the leadership team exudes a lot of enthusiasm and confidence, and that they generally attempt to be transparent about the state of the company.

Review from Finance Dept

Energy & enthusiasm, transparency, authenticity

Review from Finance Dept

They are strategic and caring.

Committed to transparency, through the good and the bad.

Review from Finance Dept

Their Flexibility for employees is nice

Review from Finance Dept

I like how our CEO along with leadership team keeps us informed on the business performance on the monthly basis via monthly business performance calls

Review from IT Dept

Approachable, address issues directly instead of using corporate executive lingo that can sometime dance around subjects.

Review from Finance Dept

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Creating a clear product strategy and giving teams enough time to properly plan and execute that strategy. There is a lot of fear in the VP level of disagreement with Execs - that breeds inefficiency and uncertainty at the lower levels

Review from Operations Dept

Communicating big picture strategy. We hear about overall goals but then see key employees being replaced in areas we hear we're focused on. So much great talent pushed out in the last few years and so much KNOWLEDGE lost with them. Feels counter-productive and a likely source of lacking sales.

Review from Operations Dept

Managers could use management training. Stop putting people in decision making roles that are not qualified to make decisions for the company and its future.

Review from IT Dept

There needs to be better career paths, clear goals for each team and more in depth yearly plans that are more achievable and less aspirational

Review from IT Dept

Transparency, getting the right people in front of company decisions, communication to the right people, managers need consistent training, stop with the layoffs, celebrate more (such as show off our photography or Shutterfly items, many things I hear about only because of LinkedIn

Review from IT Dept

Feels like the goals that they executive leadership team does not align with the staffing that is put in place at the lowest levels. Not enough worker bees to execute the queen's vision. We can't keep doing more and more with less and less.

Review from Finance Dept

We need a leader at the helm who is providing a clear direction of our business. We need new products to attract new and lost customers. We need quality products at competitive prices. We do not need to focus on equality as in race, sex, or orientation, we need the best people to do the job.

Review from Engineering Dept

Competitive pay compared to other similar jobs

Review from Finance Dept

Communication, Engagement, Action, Promotion, work life balance

Review from Finance Dept

Clear strategy planning and deployment

Review from HR Dept

Clarity of goals and deliverables. Even the deliver of the OKR process has been confusing to many even within the Csuite. We don't have a focus to stay the course and often very reactive to things before we can make smart and informed decisions

Review from Marketing Dept

Setting a clear sales strategy. Setting goals and expectations that align more closely with the business unit, vs overall company.

Stop making decisions based on personal preferences. When Sally got here, she immediately wanted Shutterfly to "look like Minted". There was no data behind that decision. There are no brand personas in place, so no guiding principles to go by. I believe we're seeing the results of that decision now.

Review from Marketing Dept

Clear communication and transparency. Follow through. Prioritization to help manage workload and eliminate burnout. Not everything can be a priority, especially amongst short staffed teams. Support employees.

Review from HR Dept

Taking actions to retain employees and stop the large group RIFS.

Review from HR Dept

Defining and sharing a company vision for success

Review from Engineering Dept

Compensation, and providing a livable, competitive wage

Review from HR Dept

Start listening to the employees on the front lines

Running the company and treating employees like people instead of machines

New managers that have no ties to current managers
