Hard-working. Intelligent. We're nerds but we also like to have fun and be social. Slalom also understands that there are others to life than work, and they support that model very well.

Yes not frowned upon at all in less it is in a meeting of course.
100% cool. It sometimes depends on the client. At Slalom office it is AOK to wear headphones.

I feel it needs to be improved. The 17 days to start is ok (not great), but the fact that is PTO (including sick) is not great.
Very flexible and generous. Talk to you managers. They will have no issue if you need more time or need to take more PTO than you are afforded during a year.
17 days to start, increasing by 1 day per year of tenure, no separate sick leave, so, its included in those days. More importantly, at Slalom, you can take your vacation!
What are your coworkers at Slalom Consulting like?
I used to be the smartest person in the room at my previous jobs. Here that's no longer the case and that's a good thing. I've never met so many intelligent and focused people in my life that also love to have a good time and aren't socially awkward. Great people, great company. Lots of challenging work and lots of fun events.

How much pressure is put on closing deals quickly?
Depends on how close your office is to making it's targets, but generally no pressure.
a lot! but at the same time we can push back about the need to get the right solution for the customer.

When management reviews our company's performance during Quarterlies, they give credit and accolades to the groups and individuals that contributed. It's great to see your hard work recognized and it's effect on the company's bottom line.

culture. we all love working here (mostly) and it shows. the people is what makes slalom great. But each office has its own culture. I've worked in 2 locations, and they are awesome.

What do you wish you knew before starting at Slalom Consulting?
That because we're consultants it's hard to get to know your colleagues since we're always at the client site. So be sure to put in an extra effort to get to know your colleagues even if you work at different projects, etc. Participate in as many social events you can manage.
What are the most important soft skills to be successful at Slalom Consulting?
Be interesting. Be able to have a conversation with both colleagues, clients, and superiors. Be genuine and have a personality.

How social do you need to be to be promoted and get ahead?
somewhat. Probably at least a 7 on a 10 scale.
After an offer is made, how long does the onboarding process take?
I was not onboarded. Maybe took a few online classes on client security. But was staffed almost immediately.
