What is the daily attire at Avanade?
Generally it's business casual attire. If you are working at a client location, you may be asked to match their requirements.
What is Avanade's policy towards pets in the workplace?
I have never seen any pets in the office I've been to. Most of the workspace is geared towards meetings, client Demo's and hoteling type space for visiting staff. They might be able to get away with a fish or something if they had an office.
How does Avanade handle HR issues?
Avanade HR is very corporate and rather insular. HR at any company in my opinion is there to protect the company from employee risks so don't make the mistake thinking they are there for you.
How innovative is Avanade?
I would say innovative in the corporate sense of the word. This generally means they are 2 years behind any cutting edge innovation and tend to repackage old things with new labels. The culture is conservative, having rather conservative parents, and change is hard given the decentralized nature so perhaps not a surprise that a lag exists and risky unproven innovation is observed before being adopted.

How much depends on performance and typically annual, except for the lower analyst positions which can be semi-annual
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Avanade?
That having to travel to different clients, whether they're on the far side of town or in another state, isn't such a big deal. The costs are compensated and it only lasts so long. Worrying about that is one thing that kept me from pursuing a career as a consultant and that I now regret as I could have been in a job I enjoy doing that much sooner.

Exclusively male and average performers who rely on their relationships with male leadership to get plum roles and succeed.

I'm in sales, and my bonus is a stretch, but achievable.
What does the leadership team at Avanade need to get better at?
My leadership is almost exclusively male and gives lip service to promoting women. The culture and stack ranking review process favor men.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved at Avanade?
Women aren't treated fairly: we are paid less, bullied by colleagues and overlooked by leadership. Basic manners would be an improvement.

Fast-paced, exciting, passionate about technology. It can be rewarding and it can be devastating.
