  • It's an open office environment. Even the executives don't have offices. It's not bad, as it allow us to collaborate easily. What isn't ideal is that we have grown so much, we are over capacity, so they took over our collaboration spaces and replaced them all with desks. Now the only place to gather is in a meeting room, which is extremely hard to secure.

  • We have outgrown our existing office space. Due to our limited real estate, the office is extremely loud and bustling during every hour of the day. The fact that we have an open office environment just exacerbates the situation. Once we move to our new building, the vibe will convert back to the fun, collaborative environment I remember. Until then, all the activity will give you severe ADHD.

  • We have a culture committee that only seems to focus on celebrating odd days of the year with food and drinks. HR does a terrible job of creating company-wide culture and upholding it. At our latest company meeting our head of HR got up in front of the company and basically handed over control of cultural to each individual manager. That's not how it should work. That was her chance to set the tone for thing such as our work from home policy. That was extremely disappointing.

  • Promotions are given strictly based on performance. It doesn't matter how long you've been with the company. If you're not performing, you won't get promoted. You really need to have a few major accomplishments under your belt to use as leverage when approaching your manager and requesting a promotion.
