Executive Bio

Mr. Tal Saraf serves as Senior Vice President of Engineering, Architecture & Starbucks Technology at Starbucks Corporation. Mr. Saraf and his engineering teams are responsible for extending customer digital engagement through world-class web and mobile experiences, supported by modern scalable cloud platforms and integrated services. Before joining Starbucks in October 2016, he bootstrapped a Cloud startup in Seattle and served as Vice President of Product Management for Cisco, where he was responsible for development of product requirements and driving adoption of Cisco Cloud Services. He also spent five years at Amazon during the formation of Amazon Web Services (AWS), serving as General Manager of CloudFront, Route 53 and the Elastic Transcoding Services. At Amazon, he was responsible for the overall development, management and product direction of these three web services as well as an internal web service. Prior to his time at AWS, he held a variety of technical leadership roles over 16 years with Microsoft, working on and releasing products and services including Speech Server, MyMSN, Server and Desktop ActiveSync, TaxSaver and Internet Explorer. He was also a managing consultant for a practice office of Microsoft Consulting Services. He is a co-inventor on 24 issued United States patents. He holds a B.S. in computer and systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York and MBA in finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.
