What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The most positive thing is that my coworkers and the store customers are creative.

What did you like most about the interview process?

Good interview, but since the position was considered entry level, it was very undem.

What are some of the best things about your team?

People who work at Michaels tend to be outgoing and creative and this makes them nice to work with.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

The manager is okay, but needs to be more proactive when it comes to wages, store appearance and customer service.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

There is very little room for advancement in pay. Staffing shortages have increased expectations but management shows no signs of responding to these shortages by increasing hourly pay.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Staffing shortages negatively affect customer service. Corporate demands to sign up customers for Michaels Rewards borders on the obsessive. It seems that the number of new signups for the Rewards program is the first and foremost basis for pay raises while customer service is not given much weight.
