Social type meeting in a relaxed environment of the classroom. Back then working for Michaels was awesome. The sign on the door that said rated a great place to work was a standout memory that no longer exists

My manager was not trying to rush through. You could tell he was really trying to get to know me and see if I would fit the store's atmosphere. He wasn't just trying to hire a body like some big box companies. He was friendly and relaxed, it felt like a conversation rather than an a test.
I was referred and offered the job without interviewing.

Less on line forms . Increase one on one interaction.
I would have better lined up questions for those applying for the position. They should be able to have at retail experience and have an up going and up lifting personality.
