Nerdery Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Its a good balance of everything, its good that the management wants us to use PTO every quarter and reminds us about it..

Flexible PTO and ability to WFH

Review from Product Dept

Competitive PTO program, Low cost health plan, and 401(K) match.

Medical coverage has been great with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Review from Engineering Dept

Flexible PTO policy – although unlimited is new, the company and staff is generally accommodating to make requests wo

Review from Design Dept

Review from Marketing Dept

Review from Product Dept

Flex PTO is very nice.

Review from IT Dept

PTO, healthcare, and flexibility to work from home

Competitive base pay plus incentive compensation

unlimited PTO / general flexibility with role

The current salary pay.

Review from Marketing Dept

Having unlimited PTO really allows me to not worry about my days off.

Review from Engineering Dept

I don't know if there's one thing that jumps out at me but I'm happy with the overall package.

Review from Marketing Dept

Medical beneifts with the option for HSA

There is a decent 401K match and fully vested at start is great

Flexible PTO that is actually flexible!

Review from Product Dept

Unlimited PTO and flexibility with remote employees across the US (and some outside the US!) has been great for work-life balance

Review from Design Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation doesn't feel aligned to the value provided. Also, roles and titles don't always seem to be equivalent across domains in terms of pay or experience required.

Pay is below market rate for the work and responsibility, snacks have been removed from the office, and all the new open enrollment numbers are more expensive. It'd be nice if things got better year over year rather than worse.

Review from IT Dept

I feel they need to look at getting their pay scale, especially for their tenured employees closer to the market. It is such a sad sight to see new people coming in at times higher or equal than some people who have been here a long time. Sr staff should be getting higher pay..

Review from IT Dept

Perks are great if you have the time to enjoy them, but work-life balance has taken a real hit. "Flexible PTO" sounds great, but if you're so busy that you don't feel like you can take any, or there's nobody to cover you, then the benefit has no value.

Review from Engineering Dept

Need more resources to effectively perform my job

Review from IT Dept

I'm making considerably less than the salary rates of comparable positions with my experience

Review from Marketing Dept

The raises over the last 2 years are not in line with many companies and certainly doesnt make a dent in bidens inflation. In addition, our benefits last year had a ridiculous increase and now changing companies.

The message I get when salaries are kept low is that they ultimately don't care if I stay. If I leave maybe they don't replace me or rehire for less. If they must rehire for more, it's just their risk vs the guaranteed savings of paying me less now. I want to stay. Pay me closer to market rate.

Review from Engineering Dept

I have to juggle too much. time looks fine on paper. this isn't, and hasn't been a short time thing

Review from Engineering Dept

Pay is significantly under market for my role.

Review from IT Dept

Competitive salary, additional benefits, increased parental leave, better work from home benefits, better office culture

I am paid less than other individuals in my same position and market rate for my position is higher than what I am paid.

Review from Product Dept

As a non-billable employee, there seems to be less opportunities for growth (especially since I'm not doing directly client-related work) and therefore, it seems like there's less room to increase compensation. Even when I was doing work above my pay level, I still only received a 2-3% raise.

Review from Marketing Dept

2% increases aren't moving forward with the rest of the country. But, I understand why

Pay that is more comparable to market rate and support for repaying student loans.

Review from Engineering Dept

I feel like there is too much to be offer and too less offered

Review from Engineering Dept

Nerdery needs to be more competitive in the industry for the majority of our roles, and truly review internal pay bands. A lot of our roles extend past standard responsibilities and take on a lot more to help the organization, and proper compensation is required.

I think that the messaging around my compensation says "undervalued" but talking with my colleagues it's clear that as a person and the contributions I provide I surely don't.

Review from Engineering Dept

I can't answer this without giving away who I am.
