A positive experience overall, but with regular corporate politics woven in between. It's an extremely large and complex organization but with a very clear and simple mission to serve science. Overall, I enjoy the work and feel fulfilled by its purpose.

They are quick to respond to current events, and are supportive of employees overall

The ability to talk to customers, work with my teammates, and solve complex problems in creative ways that supports digital products.
What did you like most about the interview process?
It was pretty informal for me onboarding as a contractor before converting to full time - but it's more rigorous for full time employee roles with rounds and panels of stakeholder interviews
What are some of the best things about your team?
The support and dynamic is unmatched. My team is a group of thoughtful, caring people and we all have each other's backs. The people I work with is the reason I've stayed at the company for as long as I have.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Overall, the desire to grow, fund and support employee groups and initiatives, and the culture to promote process improvements and innovation is wonderful. The company is super mission-driven, and you can see the fruits of you labor because the purpose is so clear.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Having the same pay for the same roles/ type of work. It varies across bands, and there are limits to what you can or can't do within those bands. An annual market-rate evaluation for employee's roles, experience & location cost of living would make me feel better as my industry (UX) is ever growing
