Paying attention to their employee's concerns. Having a structure in place that is transparent and flexible. Actually spending time to train their leadership team members on how to manage suvvessfully.

Focus on work-life balance for employees. There are way too many projects in IT causing burnout of the employees.
Toast was already a lower paying tech company but over the years stock based compensation dwindled (no auto refreshers like big tech), promotions harder to come by.
If I actually got to take some of the so called unlimited PTO they supposedly offer.
More RSU compared to options.

Never had the opportunity to counter at hiring. Comp is currently 20-30% below market.

Take a pause and look at the feedback. Every year the same issues show up in the refine our recipe survey but it's never solved.
More work life balance. An actual team that has been properly trained. A complete overhaul of the management team.
Interviewers are more concerned with getting bodies in chairs than they are concerned about the qualifications of an employee.

Our customers assume everyone is incompetent because they have spent too much time with undertrained employees. We need properly trained employees who are held accountable to procedures that are feasible and practical.
