I worked at a local market of townsquare, and my local market was the absolute greatest. Your experience will heavily depend on your team and your market since each is so different. Some are heaven on earth and some are awful (apparently.) I'm lucky and only experienced the good.

  • Hourly employees get zero raises ever. I work on air every weekend and every holiday for literally minimum wage. I do however get calls to cover on all major dayparts. The value townsquare media places on this is literally minimum wage. Funny thing is mngt wonders why parttimers "dont stick around" real geniuses.

  • For the job I performed and the market size I was in I was underpaid by $10,000.

View Response & Answer »

Asked to all employees at Townsquare Media

  • I have been on air at townsquare every weekend, every holiday and fill in on every day part (at a moments notice) for ten years now. At townsquare that is worth minimum wage. Thats right, actual minimum wage for 10 years of loyal service. So if you want to work at tsm prepare for low wages. Also remember that the only good ideas come from home office. local decision making is rare. Most imortantly if you want to work in radio at tsm the most important thing you can do is social media. Thats right, tsm owns hundreds of radio stations but your facebook posts are more important than on air. So talk about your social media strategies alot and they will be more interested in you.
